Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 56

The Ranveer Singh starrer has completed eight weeks in theatres. On Day 56, the film earned just Rs 0.35 cr at the Indian box office. With this, its total India net collection stands at Rs 836.60 cr.

The film was close to the Rs 850 cr mark but could not cross the milestone in its closing days. Despite this, Dhurandhar has already created history. It is among the highest all-time grossers in Indian cinema and currently stands as the highest-grossing Bollywood film in India.

With fresh releases arriving in cinemas, the film is now expected to make way. Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3 hit theatres today, leading to a reshuffle of screens. After dominating the box office for weeks and breaking multiple records, Dhurandhar is exiting cinemas as its daily earnings indicate no scope for continuation.

About The Film And Its OTT Release

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is a large-scale spy thriller inspired by real-life events tied to India’s covert responses to major geopolitical incidents such as the IC-814 hijacking and the 2001 Parliament attack. Ranveer Singh plays Hamza, a secret operative tasked by Intelligence Bureau chief Ajay Sanyal, portrayed by R Madhavan, to infiltrate Karachi’s underworld and dismantle a dangerous terror network.

The antagonist Rehman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna, has been widely praised for his chilling screen presence. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun in key roles.

Made on an estimated budget of Rs 250–280 cr, with marketing costs pushing the overall spend higher, Dhurandhar delivered massive returns. The film grossed over Rs 1344 cr worldwide, making it the highest-grossing single-language Hindi film of all time.

However, the Netflix release on 30 January 2026 has drawn mixed reactions. Several viewers complained about unexpected censorship despite the film carrying an A certificate. Muted dialogues and beeped words, including Baloch, left many fans unhappy, as they felt it diluted the film’s gritty tone.

Viewers also noticed that the OTT version appears to be nearly 10 minutes shorter than the 214-minute theatrical cut. While some believe the edits were made for smoother pacing, others feel they were done to avoid potential controversy.

Despite these concerns, audience interest remains strong. Many viewers continue to praise Ranveer Singh’s controlled performance and Akshaye Khanna’s intense portrayal. For several fans, the OTT format has made it easier to watch the lengthy film at their own pace, ensuring that Dhurandhar continues to find viewers even as its theatrical chapter comes to a close.
