EXCLUSIVE: Kajol’s Mythological Horror Thriller Maa Features ‘Shaitaan’ R Madhavan In Climax Twist - Here’s How It Unfolds (Spoiler Alert)
Kajol’s new film Maa blends myth and horror as she battles a curse with divine rage. A surprise climax twist featuring R Madhavan hints at a dark shared universe.
Kajol’s upcoming mythological horror Maa is set to release in theatres tomorrow (June 27). The buzz is strong, and not just because it stars Kajol in a powerful lead role. With dark folklore, supernatural themes, and a shocking twist at the end, Maa promises more than the usual horror drama.
The film runs for 2 hours and 15 minutes and is certified UA 16+ by the CBFC. It follows Ambika (played by Kajol), a mother who, along with her daughter Shweta, ends up in a cursed village during a road trip. What begins as a peaceful journey turns into a terrifying ride filled with myth, blood, and betrayal.
Earlier, Kajol denied R Madhavan’s appearance in the film, but we can now confirm his presence.
Ronit Roy’s Role In Maa Is Darker Than Expected
Ronit Roy plays the main antagonist in the film. He takes on the role of a village sarpanch who secretly harbours a dark mission. He is assigned the task of placing a rakhtbeej (a demonic seed or curse) in the first female child born into the family of Kajol and Indraneil Sengupta.
The curse is set to activate when the girl reaches puberty. Ronit Roy’s character waits 40 long years for this moment. When the girl finally gets her first period, the evil plan is set in motion.
However, things take a sharp turn. Kajol’s character is suddenly empowered by the divine strength of Maa Kaali. She channels the goddess’s fury and ultimately kills Ronit Roy, putting an end to his dark intentions.
So, What About R Madhavan?
Well, just when it seems like evil has been defeated, the story drops one final twist. R Madhavan appears in a surprise climax. In a brief but powerful scene, he enters and says that evil never truly goes away, even if it appears to be defeated. His entry hints at a potential sequel or an even bigger supernatural conflict ahead.
Maa releases in theatres tomorrow and has enough thrill to keep you hooked. For better clarity and the full experience, you’ll have to watch it on the big screen.
