Fat to fit: Parineeti Chopra’s weight loss journey is incredible

Parineeti Chopra: This Punjabi kudi has won millions of hearts with her acting. She is different from the rest of the lot. Parineeti Chopra grabbed the limelight with her very first film Ladies vs Ricky Bahl in 2011. But her weigh loss journey from 86 kgs to 58 kgs is no less commendable. Read on to know how and what she did to get her curves right in place.

Losing weight was not easy for Parineeti as sshe loves to eat good food. But, with a rigorous workout regime and a strict diet plan, she managed to shed those extra pounds and look stunning. In an interview in the past, she was quoted as saying:

Desire to look better

“I am young and there is no reason for me to look fat. I want to look great. I am taking care of myself and I am losing even more weight because I want to look better.”

While some actors like Huma Qureshi and Vidya Balan have always been comfortable with the way they look, the Kill Dill star never felt the same way. She once said:

“Those actresses are comfortable in what they look like. I used to feel uncomfortable. I am in a visual medium and should be able to compete with every good-looking actress.”

Parineeti found it very tough to find the right dress when she was overweight. The clothes wouldn’t fit right and she had limited options of what to wear. What was worse, she could not wear sleeveless and faced tummy issues too.

“I was sick and tired of clothes not fitting and having limited options on what to wear.”

Acting comes last

Initially, she thought acting was all that was needed to be a good actor. But soon she realised that to stay in Bollywood, you need to have a combination of good looks, figure besides acting skills. And then began her arduous journey to lose weight, in order to look good on screen.

Parineeti says she was always on the heavier side as a child. But Bollywood changed all that. Her weight gave her a lot of negative publicity. She loathes exercises but she decided to take to the gym. With rigorous weight training, Parineeti, soon shut up her critics by showing off her more toned avatar.

“I used to be 86 kilos; I used to wear size 38. Right now, fitting into a jeans of size 30 is a big achievement,”  says the actor proudly.

Know her regimen

Starting the day with jogging

Meditation

Doing yoga for an hour

Involving into activities that she likes, such as swimming and horse riding

Running on treadmill

Using some deadly dance moves to kill those extra calories along with improving her dance skills

Cardio and regular exercise
