Haq Box Office Collection: Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi’s courtroom drama Haq is slowly finding its footing at the box office. After a modest start on Friday, the film witnessed an encouraging jump on Saturday, showing positive signs for the weekend. Directed by Suparn S Varma, Haq is inspired by the real-life story of Shah Bano Begum, whose 1985 legal battle became a landmark moment for divorced Muslim women in India.
Haq Box Office Collection Day 2
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Haq collected Rs 3.35 cr on its second day, more than double its Friday opening of Rs 1.75 cr. With this boost, the film’s total domestic collection now stands at Rs 5.10 cr in two days. This steady rise has given the film a much-needed push after its dull start.
Though Haq couldn’t surpass Yami Gautam’s last hit Article 370, it performed better than Emraan Hashmi’s recent release Ground Zero, which earned Rs 3.05 cr in two days. The comparison comes as a relief for Emraan, who had been looking for a box office comeback after a string of underperforming projects.

Emotional Moment At Theatre Screening
A touching moment from one of Haq’s screenings went viral online. A Muslim woman got emotional after watching the film and couldn’t stop crying upon meeting Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi. She held Yami’s hand and said, “Bahot khushi hui. Dekh ke mujhe laga ke yeh haq humko milna chahiye (I felt very happy watching it. I felt everyone should get this right).”
She then kissed Yami’s hand and added, “Yeh mere liye bhi hai ke main bhi aise lad sakti hoon. Mujhe bahot seekh mili (This is also for me, that I, too, can fight like this. I learnt a lot).”
About Haq
Haq tells the story of Shazia (Yami Gautam Dhar), an uneducated woman who marries a successful lawyer, Abbas Khan (Emraan Hashmi). Her life takes a shocking turn when Abbas suddenly brings home a second wife and later ends their marriage through triple talaq. The film follows Shazia’s fight for justice as she challenges the system and reclaims her dignity.
The film’s premise draws from the landmark Shah Bano case, which became a symbol of women’s rights in India. Directed by Suparn S Varma, the legal drama also stars Vartika Singh, Danish Husain, Sheeba Chadha, and Aseem Hattangady in pivotal roles..
