After being together for 16 years, the duo has decided to part ways. The news comes months after both actors had denied divorce rumours. However, the confirmation has come directly from Jay this time, ending all speculation.
The Hate Story 2 actor shared a lengthy statement on social media to announce the decision. He clarified that the separation is mutual and peaceful. There is no bitterness, blame or drama involved. Instead, the couple is choosing calm, respect and emotional well-being, especially for their children.

The couple said, “For the sake of our children, Tara, Khushi and Rajveer, we commit to being the best parents, the best friends, and whatever else it takes to do what is right for them. Before any conclusions are drawn, please know that we choose peace over drama and sanity above all else.”
Jay further appealed for privacy and kindness during this phase. He added, “We continue to respect one another, support one another, and remain friends, as we always have been. With mutual respect, we ask for your respect, love and kindness as we move forward.”

Jay and Mahhi’s love story goes back many years. The two first met at a club, and Jay has often shared that it took him just three months to realise Mahhi was the woman he wanted to marry. Their bond quickly grew stronger, both personally and professionally.
