Gulshan Devaiah is enjoying the massive success of Kantara Chapter 1, which has quickly become a blockbuster. The film has already collected around Rs 600 crore worldwide and continues to do well at the box office.
In a recent chat with Varinder Chawla’s YouTube channel, Gulshan spoke about handling success, raising his fees and even made a fun-filled joke about actors with lavish entourages.

Talking about the film’s success, Gulshan said, “It’s only a matter of time before something like this happens and there’s a big explosion. You have to be ready, because if you’re not ready, you can lose your head. And I’ve seen the conventional idea of success mess with people’s heads. I was mature enough to handle it in a healthy manner, and productive manner, which means that I’m going to make more money now.”
He also revealed that he raised his fees right after the trailer came out. Hw quickly added, “Already hiked. They were hiked the day the trailer dropped. I have to take advantage of this, don’t I? It’s one of the most anticipated films of the year, one of the biggest films of India… I’ve been working for 15 years; this much business I know.”
Actor Mocks Bollywood Stars With Heavy Entourage Cost
Gulshan didn’t hold back when joking about the large teams some actors travel with. He quipped, “Which is apparently less than some other films. Some people have 1,000 people in their staff and 52 vanity vans. I think these people are my friends only. I really like them also. Hope this joke flies well, or goes under the radar.”
His humour comes at a time when entourage culture is widely discussed in Bollywood. While some stars travel with huge teams and luxury vans, Gulshan’s joke shows the contrast with actors who prefer a simpler, grounded approach.
