Mirzapur Season 3: Good News For Pankaj Tripathi fans! SC Refuses Stay on the Most Awaited Amazon Prime Series

Mirzapur Season 3: The series or the films which are loved by fans, making their remakes or sequels have become come now. One such series of Pankaj Tripathi and Divyendu Sharma’s ‘Mirzapur’ has also got a lot of love from the audience, after which the makers made ‘Mirzapur Season 2’ which was a big hit. And now season 3 of Mirzapur is all set to be released on the OTT platform soon. Now the Supreme Court has also given relief to the fans of this web series. The court has refused to stay the release of Mirzapur 3.

Court Refuses the Stay on Release

The Supreme Court said, ‘How can there be a pre-screening committee for a web series? He further said- ‘This is a special law, as long as you do not violate the law, it will continue like this because the existing law is applicable on OTT also. If changes are made then many questions will arise after this because they are also broadcast from other countries.

Background of the Case

The background of the story was Sujit Kumar Singh of Mirzapur had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking that a ‘pre-screening’ committee be formed for web series, films or other content to be released directly on the online platform. The petition states that The Mirzapur series has tarnished the historical and cultural image of the city, the petition also states that this OTT series is full of nudity, obscenity, harassment, and hate speech. Court said ‘This is a special law, as long as you do not violate the law, it will continue like this because the existing law is applicable to OTT also. If changes are made then many questions will arise after this because they are also broadcast from other countries.
