Paresh Rawal is in big trouble after his sudden exit from Hera Pheri 3. The makers have reportedly sent him a legal notice demanding Rs 25 crore for damages. They claim his decision caused major financial losses.
Rawal confirmed his exit on social media earlier this month. Fans assumed he left due to creative differences. But he later said, “It’s neither about the money nor the script.” His statement confused many, and some even thought it was a joke.
The film’s producers, Cape of Good Films, are now calling out his move.
Hera Pheri 3 Makers Sue Paresh Rawal Over Unprofessional Behaviour
They had invested heavily to reboot the comedy franchise. The team brought back the original trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. They even shot a promo video with all three.
As per a source quoted in a Pinkvilla report, Cape of Good Films bought the rights to Hera Pheri 3 from several parties and even cleared all pending debts tied to the project. They spent crores to bring the iconic franchise back to theatres after two decades. However, Paresh Rawal’s sudden exit has caused huge financial damage to the film.
The insider said Rawal had already signed the contract and accepted the signing fee. They claimed the actor received more than three times his usual rate. The source added that Cape of Good Films decided to clear all previous debts and invest heavily in Hera Pheri 3 only after getting a firm commitment from Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty to return as the original trio.
According to insiders, the makers went ahead with the production once all three agreed, and even kicked off filming with a quirky announcement video featuring the iconic characters. This initial shoot was meant to set the tone for the film’s grand revival, making Rawal’s sudden exit a major setback.
Makers Paid Him Much More Than Market Value
The producers said they had no choice but to take legal action. The source further shared, “Why should a producer suffer due to an unprofessional exit of another actor? He has to pay for the losses caused by the sudden exit.”
They also said they fulfilled all of Rawal’s demands and expected him to honour the deal. The same source revealed, “The makers agreed to all his demands, and even paid him much more than the market value. He has been a part of all the core meetings... and the intent is to take action as he has backed out after committing to the film and even shooting for it.”
Hera Pheri 3 is still in the works. Priyadarshan will direct the film. Despite the off-screen drama, the comedy remains one of the most anticipated sequels in Bollywood.
