The much-awaited first look of Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, is finally here and fans can’t stop talking about it. The three-minute teaser keeps the actors’ faces mostly hidden but still manages to tease a massive showdown between Ram and Ravan.

Packed with grand visuals and powerful music, the teaser has left audiences impressed. Ranbir takes on the role of Lord Ram, while Yash steps into Ravan’s shoes. Fans online are calling this a solid upgrade from Adipurush, praising the visuals for finally doing justice to the epic tale.

Ramayana First Glimpse Promises Next-Level Storytelling

The teaser kicks off with the story of the Holy Trinity (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva)setting the cosmic balance of the universe. It then builds up to the big face-off between Ram and Ravan, calling it the “war to end all wars.”

Fans couldn’t help but notice how the credits roll out in a Game of Thrones-style format, which adds a global touch to the mythological drama. There’s no actual footage from the film yet, but the music by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman adds an emotional punch.

The project is being marketed as “Our Truth, Our Story” calling  it a heartfelt retelling of one of India’s oldest legends. In this story, Ram stands for sacrifice and righteousness, while Ravan represents revenge and raw power.

Budget, Cast And More

Ranbir Kapoor is stepping into his first mythological role as Ram, while Sai Pallavi plays Sita, marking her big entry into mainstream Hindi films. Yash, fresh off the KGF success, is not just playing Ravan but also co-producing the film.

Talking about his role, Yash told The Hollywood Reporter India, “It’s a very fascinating character… there’s vast scope to present it in a very different way.”

The film’s cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Supporting actors like Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi and Arun Govil round out the star lineup.

Reportedly made on a jaw-dropping budget of Rs 835 crore, Ramayana has now become the most expensive Indian film ever made. For comparison, Kalki 2898 AD and Adipurush were reportedly made at Rs 600 crore and Rs 500 crore, respectively.

The film will release in two parts. Part 1 is scheduled for Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027. Both releases are planned for IMAX, promising a big-screen spectacle.

Social media reactions have already lit up. A fan posted on X, “Holy shit nitish tiwari cooked 🔥,” while another wrote, “this actually looks good im seated.”

Of course, not everyone is convinced. One negative user commented, “Unfortunately they will show Ravana as a good guy with 1 mistake unlike the real history.”

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and written by Sriram Raghavan, with VFX handled by the Oscar-winning DNEG, Ramayana is expected to be one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious retellings yet.
