Diljit Dosanjh is under fire just days after his big Met Gala 2025 moment. The actor-singer shared the trailer for Sardaar Ji 3 on Sunday, but instead of praise, it led to major backlash. It’s because Pakistani actress Hania Aamir stars as the lead. This didn’t sit well with many in India due to the ongoing ban on Pakistani artists.
B Praak Slams Sardaarji 3 Actor Diljit Dosanjh
As the trailer gained attention, singer B Praak added fuel to the controversy with a pointed Instagram story. He wrote, “Kayin artist apna zameer he bech chuke ne. Fiteh mooh tuhade.” (Many artists have sold their conscience. Shame on you.) Though he didn’t name anyone, many believe it was aimed at Diljit.

The criticism has become more serious as Islamic scholar and social worker Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi called for a ban on the film. According to reports, he accused Diljit of “sending the wrong message” by working with a Pakistani actress and even demanded the actor’s arrest. The Maulana also asked the government to take strong action and urged people to boycott the movie.
The timing has made things worse. Just days ago, the Pahalgam terror attack shocked the country, and people say this film’s release feels insensitive. Reports suggest Sardaar Ji 3 was shot before the attack, but that hasn’t helped the outrage.
The trailer has now been geo-blocked in India, even though the teaser and songs are still viewable. Sources say the film will skip a theatrical release in India to avoid more backlash.
Film To Release Globally On THIS Date
Despite the controversy, Sardaar Ji 3 will still release internationally on June 27, 2025. The film is directed by Amar Hundal and written by Rakesh Dhawan. Along with Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir, the film also features Neeru Bajwa, Jasmin Bajwa, Manav Vij, and Gulshan Grover. Diljit has co-produced the film with Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu.
