Sony TV’s Shark Tank India 5 delivered one of its most memorable moments when a pitcher shocked the sharks by proposing to Namita Thapar in the middle of his pitch. While his partner focused on presenting the business, he went down on one knee and showed a diamond ring, leaving the panel and audience laughing.
Pitcher Proposes Namita Thapar On Shark Tank India 5
As seen in a clip shared by SonyLIV, the entrepreneur approached Namita and said, “Aaj tak is aquarium mein aap jaise sundar aur paise wali shark nahi dekhi. Ye dil, ye haath aur ye ring sirf aapke liye. Will you accept my proposal?”
Namita, clearly surprised, replied, “My God, of course, I do. By the way, proposal kya hai? Bina jaane, I accept. Diamonds ke liye kuch bhi.”
Anupam Mittal joked, “Chal bhai. Love it. Tera kaam ho gaya. Tu usko leke ja. Wapis mat laiyo.”
After the proposal, the pitchers presented their brand, True Diamond. They highlighted their unique designer diamond rings. “Mam, ye ek regular diamond nahi hai. This is a Portuguese ka true diamond. Isme teen guna zyada shine, sparkle aur fire compare to regular diamonds. Iske bolne ka tarika shayad soft ho, but ye ring genuinely bahut hi solid hai,” they explained.
Founders Parin Shah and Majnu Darash said their brand focuses on luxury and customisation. They offer titanium rings, black diamonds, champagne-coloured gold, and rare Kashi 108 cut diamonds. Customers can personalise lab-grown or natural diamonds with 18-carat gold and yellow diamonds using their Build Your Own Ring bar.
Adding another twist, one of the pitchers said, “True Diamond mein hamara ask hai 1.08 crore for 1% equity. But Namita ji ek confession hai. Sorry, you are not my first.”
Curious, Namita asked who had accepted before. The pitcher revealed, “That is Kunal. Accept kar chuke hain matlab hi is an investor. Yes. Ok. Uski baat ho hi gayi, to kitne mein invest kiya tha? Sir, first round mein 40 crore ka post-money valuation tha, aur second round mein 108 crore ka post-money valuation tha. Total first round mein 8.35 crore raise kiya aur second round mein 25.92 crore.”
