Sushmita Sen: Rohman Shawl, who has frequently been in the news due to his on and off relationship with Sushmita Sen, will shortly make his acting debut and play a Kashmiri child. Rohman, who was born and raised in Nainital, initially had little interest in acting, but in December last year, he began to take the career seriously.

“After I became well-known, my modelling opportunities began to decline, and I began to receive acting offers. Since I didn’t want to do anything, I continued declining. When the modelling bids did not have adequate funding, I noticed a change in myself. I came to the realisation that I must evolve. Started considering acting and the scripts could really connect with because I could see the opportunities that were coming my way. I have a lot to learn as an actor, but the one skill I possess is the ability to be myself in front of the camera”, he said in an interview with HT.
Rohman recalls his journey
Rohman remembers arriving in Mumbai in 2017 and auditioning for a high-profile film. Although the film’s creators were thrilled about the potential of having him play a significant role, things took a turn for the worse following the audition.
He further said “Acting was never something I was interested in when I moved to Mumbai because it was such a difficult procedure. And I believed that I was powerless to do action. I first took a few acting classes. I did perform an audition for a film that I would not name. After choosing me, they informed me that the cast was being altered because everything had changed. After that, I didn’t want to do anything. It was for a highly significant film that is finally being released after a long delay. I had a significant setback as a result and stopped holding auditions.”

At the age of 19, Rohan appeared in his first commercial after breaking into the fashion industry approximately ten years ago. Rohman is transitioning into acting after establishing himself as a model in Delhi and walking the runway for designers like Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Manish Malhotra.
Akhil Abroi to direct Rohman
Akhil Abrol, who served as an assistant director on Kajol’s 2018 film “Helicopter Eela,” is directing his first Hindi feature. According to Rohman, some of the movie was filmed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bhaderwah.
