Viral Video: Asitya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge is making waves worldwide, not just for its box office success but also for sparking heated debates online. A viral video of a Pakistani family reacting to the film has grabbed attention across social media.
The clip shows a Pakistani family living in the UK standing outside a cinema hall, clearly frustrated after watching the film. While they had praised the first Dhurandhar in 2025, the sequel left them unimpressed. They called it GHATIYA (third-class) and criticised its portrayal of Pakistan. At one point, the family chanted “Pakistan Zindabad” while calling Arjun Rampal‘s character Major Iqbal their “hero.”
The family referenced Major Iqbal’s dialogue – “Hum phir se aayenge, phir ghusenge, phir maarenge.” They also expressed disappointment over Akshaye Khanna’s absence, who played Rahman Dakait in the first film, saying it made the sequel feel inferior.
For the unversed, Major Iqbal is a ruthless ISI mastermind in the film, responsible for terror attacks in India, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The character is inspired by real-life militants such as Ilyas Kashmiri.
How Indian Users Reacted To Pakistani Family’s Viral Video On Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge
Reacting to the viral video, a user wrote, “Dhurandhar 2 is doing what Indian cinema rarely achieves: forcing uncomfortable conversations across the border. The fact that a Pakistani family watched it, got frustrated, and still could not stop talking about it proves the storytelling hit exactly where it was supposed to. This is soft power at work.”

Ban, Piracy And Controversy Surrounding The Sequel
Despite being banned in Pakistan, Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge has caused major disruption there. Within 12 days, the film recorded over 2 million illegal downloads, surpassing blockbusters like Raees and 2.0, making it the most pirated film in the country’s history. Even journalists and prominent figures openly admitted to watching it, embarrassing local authorities who tried blocking it through VPNs and internet blackouts.
Critics in Pakistan called the film “blatant propaganda” and “anti-Muslim” due to its depiction of Pakistan as a “terror state” and its focus on real events like the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and Lyari gang wars. In response, the Pakistani government announced a film titled Mera Lyari to offer an alternative perspective.
Despite bans, backlash, and controversy, Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge continues to dominate conversations globally. The spy thriller also features Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and other notable actors.
