CM Yogi Adityanath: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called for urgent and proactive preventive actions, lifestyle changes and stronger public awareness to prevent kidney disease from becoming a silent epidemic.
The UP CM issued a warning that approximately 10 percent of the population is at an increased risk of acquiring kidney disease. He went on to add that the state government has always ensured that there is no shortage of funds for healthcare services in the state.

Under the able leadership of Yogi Adityanath, the state has expanded its healthcare services from just 17 medical colleges before 2017 to around 80 today serving a population of nearly 25 crore.
The UP CM was addressing the inaugural session of the 54th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Nephrology (ISNCON-2025) at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS).
The UP CM said the state of Uttar Pradesh stands for ‘one district, one medical college.’ He went on to remark that access to kidney care has significantly improved. The UP CM commented dialysis centres are now operational in every district and there is no shortage of funds for treatment.
The UP CM also emphasized the need for a comprehensive strategy against kidney disease to protect vulnerable children, who are increasingly at risk of kidney-related ailments. The UP CM went on to say that the state has moved beyond its earlier “BIMARU” tag. He said today’s Uttar Pradesh is now a revenue-surplus state with rapidly expanding healthcare infrastructure.
