Fatty Liver: Fatty liver disease is not uncommon but often neglected and stays undiagnosed.

In a video circulated online, girls and women can notice some signs and symptoms to watch out for to stay healthy, safe and protected.

For most women, the earliest signs of fatty liver disease are not lab results but a change in cravings, feelings or subtle body changes.

1. Your cravings change before your labs do.

Your liver struggles to manage glucose levels efficiently when it is tired. This creates sudden sugar cravings that are almost impossible to control. For instance, you could find yourself reaching for late-night snacks, chocolates or desserts. This is not because you don’t have the willpower to control but because your body is possibly not able to manage the regulation of glucose. It’s like your liver waving a flag saying, “I need support.”

2. Fatty Liver makes your skin starts talking.

Random pigmentation, dullness or itchy patches on the skin can signal inflammation building beneath the surface. Don’t ignore it! Remember, your skin is like a mirror, it reflects how efficiently your liver is detoxing and processing fat.

3. Your sleep gets lighter.

If you are waking up between 1–3 AM wide-eyed and restless, that’s no coincidence. This is the prime time of your liver for detoxification. When your liver is overloaded with toxins or fat, it may interrupt your deep sleep cycle. Over time, this could translate to hormone balance and energy repair.

4. Your periods feel “different.”

A sluggish liver translates to slower estrogen detox that can cause stronger PMS, irregular menstrual cycles and mood dips.

Always remember, your body is constantly communicating with you. All you need is to listen carefully before it has to shout.
