How Are Foods Safe In Fridge?
People say that souls of foods die when they are in fridge. But it is not like that. It is the bacteria that play a major role in preserving foods in fridge. The bacteria grow at a temperature, ranging from 5-50 degrees centigrade and the temperature of fridge is 4 degree centigrade. Once you store foods in fridge, the growth of bacteria stops but they do not die. For instance—many householders store curd in the fridge to prevent it from turning sour and it remains safe. The reason is that fermentation stops.
Many people say that plastic bottles release dioxin which makes water poisonous in the fridge. But these bottles release this poisonous substance at 300 degree centigrade temperature. Likewise, when rice is in fridge, it become a bit hard next day due to resistance starch on it, which works as fiber in the body. It also reduces glycemic index of rice, which become safe for diabetic patients and also prevents the spike of glucose. So, all in all, storing healthy foods in fridge does not become unhealthy and storing unhealthy foods in fridge does not become healthy.
