In revealing development which confirms suspicions about the origin of Covid-19, pandemic, the United States Energy Department has stated that the virus had its origin in a laboratory in China. Various agencies and sources have authenticated the claims of United States Energy Department, because the agency has considerable scientific development.
Covid-19 Pandemic had its source of origin in a Chinese Lab
The United States Energy Department oversees a network of US national laboratories and some which conduct advanced biological research and the latest development was notified through a classified intelligence report , which was recently provided to the White House and key members of Congress. However, in its earlier updates the Energy Department was unsure about the origin of the virus and there were also divergent interpretation and disparate judgments from the Intelligence Community.
With its investigation revealing the source of origin in a Chinese Lab, the department joins the Federal Bureau of Investigation is saying that the Covid-19 virus had spread due to a mishap in a Chinese Laboratory. Despite thorough investigations, four other agencies, along with a national intelligence panel still judge that spread of virus globally was a result of natural transmission, while two agencies are undecided on it.
FBI had earlier concluded that the coronavirus pandemic had spread from a lab leak in China, the agency still holds on to its viewpoints.
China’s Position
China has strongly disputed that virus leak emerged from one of its labs and has suggested that leaks emerged from outside its country. China has also placed limits on investigations by World Health Organization.
Scientists have also argued that virus probably emerged naturally and spread from an animal to a human, the same pathway for outbreaks of previously unknown pathogens. However, no confirmed animal source for Covid-19 has been identified.
In the meantime, scientists have argued that a Wuhan Lab is the center of Covid-19 virus spread because of China’s extensive coronavirus research in laboratories based in the city.
