Blue tea: Lose weight, detoxify, enrich skin texture with this wonder drink

Blue tea: Have you heard of Blue tea yet? As the name suggests, is a beverage prominently blue in colour, made from the flowers of the Clitoria ternatea plant. The medicinal shrub, indigenous to South East Asia, is commonly known as butterfly pea, cordofan pea, blue pea, aparajitha and Asian pigeon wings.

Because of its health benefits, blue tea is a rising trend these days. It is known to help in weight loss, detoxification, enrich skin texture and improve hair growth.

How to make blue tea

The recipe is simple. Just boil some blue pea flower petals, along with dried lemongrass, in water for 5 – 10 minutes. Add some honey and serve warm before meals. Blue tea can also be had cold, post meals, to aid in digestion and promote healthy sleep.

Rich in antioxidants, it protects the body against free radical action. Consumed twice a week on empty stomach will flush out toxins improve digestive health.

The flavonoids in blue tea help stimulate collagen production, helping develop and maintain skin elasticity.
