Khalistani sleeper cells active, may execute terror attacks in Delhi, NCR, warn intel agencies

Khalistani sleeper cells: Khalistani terror network is active in the Delhi-NCR region, intelligence agencies have warned. Khalistani sleeper cells may carry out big terror attacks anytime soon, it said.

The warning comes some days after pro-Khalistan posters and graffiti surfaced in many localities of west Delhi on January 12. Cops have been on their toes since then and arrested two men for putting up pro-Khalistani posters in the national capital.

Objectionable graffiti put up

Sources said Khalistani sleeper cells in the national capital region may execute terror attacks. Multiple graffiti with objectionable slogans that surfaced in Vikaspuri, Janakpuri, Paschim Vihar, Peeragarhi and other parts of west Delhi, could be part of a bigger conspiracy.

Those arrested confessed to the police that they had received funds to execute anti-national activities in Delhi. Further investigations are underway, police said.

Police remove posters

Police removed the pro-Khalistani posters quickly and repainted the walls. It also filed a case under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections of promoting enmity between two groups (153-B) and criminal conspiracy (120-B).

Police patrolling was stepped up in these areas and footage from CCTV cameras was also scanned. Cops are on their toes because of input from intelligence agencies regarding Khalistani outfits planning to disturb peace and harmony in the capital.
