Chaitra Navratri 2023: Here’s the bhog list for Maa Durga during this Navratri; know here

Chaitra Navratri 2023 is around the corner. it a sacred festival celebrated every year in the Hindu calendar, starting on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra month. The festival is marked by the Kalash Sthapna on the first day. It is followed by the worship of the nine forms of Maa Durga. This year, the Chaitra Navratri is scheduled from 22nd March to 30th March.

Bhog list of Chaitra Navratri 2023

As we celebrate the auspicious festival of Chaitra Navratri, let’s delve into the traditional bhogs that are offered to the nine forms of Maa Durga, the divine feminine force.

  • Day 1: The first day of the festival is dedicated to Maa Shailputri. And devotees offer her desi ghee at her feet, which is believed to bless them with a life devoid of illness and pain.
  • Day 2: On the second day, Maa Brahmacharini is worshipped. An offering of sugar and fruits is made to her, which is believed to bestow longevity upon family members.
  • Day 3: The third day is dedicated to Maa Chandraghanta. The goddess is believed to ride a lion and destroy all things evil, is offered milk, sweets, and kheer.
  • Day 4: Maa Kushmanda, who is said to have created the entire universe, is worshipped on the fourth day. Devotees keep fast on this day and offer malpua to the goddess.
  • Day 5: The fifth day is dedicated to Maa Skandmata, and an offering of bananas is made to her, which is believed to keep the devotees healthy and fit.
  • Day 6: Honey is offered as bhog to Maa Katyayani on the sixth day.
  • Day 7: Maa Kaalratri is worshipped on the seventh day with jaggery and sweets made of jaggery. This prasad is also offered to Brahmins on the seventh day.
  • Day 8: On the eighth day, Maa Mahagauri is worshipped by offering her coconut as bhog.
  • Day 9: The ninth and final day of the festival is dedicated to Maa Siddhidatri, and devotees offer her til or sesame seeds, which is believed to bless and protect them and their family members from unfortunate incidents.
