Fear is taking over air travel in India. From deadly crashes to bomb threats and war fears, flyers are getting nervous. Many are cancelling tickets. Others are scrambling to reschedule their journeys.

It all started with the Ahmedabad plane crash and the rising tension between Iran and Israel. Several international flights were diverted or delayed. The chaos has left passengers confused, angry, and scared to fly.

Ahmedabad Plane Crash, Bomb Rumours Fuel Fear

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner crash in Ahmedabad killed more than 240 people. It was a devastating blow to public confidence. Days later, a Phuket-Delhi flight made an emergency landing after a bomb rumour. These incidents have shaken travellers across the country.

On top of that, Iran shut down its airspace after a military clash with Israel. This led to multiple Air India flights being diverted. Key international routes to London, New York, Washington, and Vancouver were affected.

Air India said, “AI130 from London to Mumbai was diverted to Vienna. AI102 from New York to Delhi was redirected to Sharjah. We’re making sure passengers get to their final destinations safely. Where needed, we’re arranging accommodation.”

Travellers Vent Frustration On Social Media

Social media is now flooded with complaints. Passengers are tagging airlines and demanding clarity. One traveller, Karan Awasthi, tweeted, “I have flight AI129 to London tomorrow. Please tell me if it’s still flying or not.” Hours later, he posted again: “What nonsense! Can’t you answer the real situation?”

Another woman, Jenny, said her husband’s diverted flight had no food or updates. She wrote, “He’s stuck. No food. No updates. What’s going on?”

Many flyers say the airlines are not giving them clear information. Some are afraid to board planes. Others are pressing travel agents to push their flights back by weeks. Some want refunds.

Travel agencies say the volume of panic calls has gone up. Customers are demanding answers, and fast. Meanwhile, airlines are trying to handle both logistics and customer complaints at once.
