Ayushman Bharat Card: Now, Senior citizens above 70 can get free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat's Vay Vandana  Yojana. It will provide big relief to these people as there is increasing need of medical treatment for old age people. This initiative allows beneficiaries to get cashless treatment at both public and empanelled private hospitals in the country.

Who are Eligible for Ayushman Bharat's Vay Vandana  Yojana?

The Government of India extended its Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) to have a special provision for senior citizens above 70. Under the scheme, eligible persons can get worth Rs 5 lakh free medical treatment annually. This initiative allows beneficiaries to get cashless treatment at both public and empanelled private hospitals across the nation. Every individual above 70 is eligible irrespective of their economic conditions. 

How to Apply for Ayushman Bharat's Vay Vandana  Yojana Card?

The card can be applied online through a simple process on Ayushman App or website. For this, aadhaar-based e-KYC will be requiring from senior citizens. This step is vital for the enrolment process in the scheme. The only document required for enrolment is the Aadhaar card and nothing else. In cases, where only the birth year is mentioned and not full date of birth on the Aadhaar card, January 1st of the following year will be considered as the date of birth.

Benefits of Ayushman Bharat's Vay Vandana  Yojana Card

The Ayushman card is very beneficial for the senior citizens as there are high chance of many diseases in the age above 70.
•    Ayushman Bharat's Vay Vandana Yojana includes specialized treatments such as Dialysis, Knee and Hip Replacements, Cardiology treatments like, stroke, cancer care, and orthopedic surgeries. 
•    It provides coverage for 1,961 medical procedures in 27 specialties
and also covers all pre-existing illnesses from the first day.
•    Under this scheme, cashless treatment is provided at over 30,000 empanelled hospitals, including 13,352 private facilities.

Senior citizens who are above 70, can now get free treatment up to 5 lakh every year all over India at more than 30,000 hospitals. They need to register online through Ayushman app or website which require aadhaar detail only.
