Bhagwant Mann to take oath as Punjab CM on March 16

Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab CM candidate Bhagwant Mann will take oath on March 16. He has invited Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for the swearing-in ceremony. He will hold a roadshow in Amritsar on March 13 along with Delhi CM and the party’s national convener Kejriwal.

After Punjab polls win, Bhagwant Mann has said the oath-taking ceremony will not be held at Raj Bhawan, but at Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in Nawanshahr district.

Bhagwant Mann has also announced that no picture of chief minister will be hung in the government offices, instead there will be pictures of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and BR Ambedkar.

“Today he came to my house to invite him to take oath. I am sure that as a Chief Minister, Bhagwant will fulfill every expectation of the people of Punjab.” Kejirwal wrote on Twitter, sharing a picture with Mann. Three days before the oath-taking ceremony, on March 13, Mann along with Kejriwal is scheduled to hold a roadshow in Amritsar to thank the people of Punjab.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Singh Mann won from the Dhuri seat by a margin of over 45,000 votes.

On Friday, Bhagwant Mann aoon-to-be chief minister, reached New Delhi to meet Arvind Kejriwal at his residence in presence of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. He touched Kejriwal’s feet and sought his blessings. The AAP had a landslide win in the Punjab Assembly polls by winning 92 seats to form its government in the state with a three-fourth majority in the 117-member legislative assembly.

Earlier in the day, Mann meet Kejriwal for the first time after the assembly election results were declared on Thursday.
