Breaking: “All three farm laws will be repealed” says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Friday and said that his government has ‘focussed on farmers’ welfare’. “Today I want to tell everyone that we have decided to repeal all three farm laws,” said PM Modi.

Following the announcement PM Modi urged the protesting farmers to return to their home.

“We will start the constitutional process to repeal all the three laws in the parliament session that starts at the end of this month,” Modi said during the address to the nation.

The Bharatiyan Kisan Union’s (BKU) Ugrahan faction welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement to repeal the three contentious farm laws.”It is a good move by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Gurupurab,” Joginder Singh Ugrahan, the leader of BKU’s Ugrahan faction, said.

BKU(Ugrahan) is the largest among the all protesting farmers unions and are protesting at the Tikri border. Ugrahan faction of the BKU has sizeable presence across Punjab.

Farmers, most of them from Punjab, have been opposing the laws since it was enacted. They have been stationed in the borders of Delhi as part of their protest.

Later in the day, he will be inaugurating key irrigation schemes in Uttar Pradesh and leaves for Jhansi to hand over locally produced military hardware to Indian armed forces on the final day of ‘Rashtra Raksha Samparpan Parv’.
