Delhi Metro Services back to regular weekend schedule from today

Delhi Metro services o weekend will be resumed as per usual timetable from Saturday as third wave of coronavirus plateaus in the national capital, officials said. Weekend curfew in Delhi came into effect from January 8 onwards after the unprecedented surge in new coronavirus cases, following which restrictions were tightened.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Thursday announced to lift weekend curfew and the odd-even system of opening non-essential shops in the city besides allowing restaurants, bars, cinema halls and theatres to reopen with 50 per cent capacity, as the COVID situation in the city continues to improve.

“In view of the latest guidelines issued by the government for the containment of COVID-19 in Delhi, metro services on weekends (Saturday/Sunday) will be again resumed as per routine weekend time table on all lines starting tomorrow i.e, 29th January 2022,” the DMRC said in a statement on Friday.

However, minor change in services will be there on Yellow Line, as announced earlier owing to Beating Retreat Ceremony on Saturday. Notably, the metro services will not be available at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan metro stations of Yellow Line from 2 PM to 6.30 PM on Saturday. During this period, passengers will be allowed to interchange from Yellow Line to Violet Line at Central Secretariat Metro Station. Normal services will be restored at these stations after 6.30 PM.
