Delhi Murder Case: Aftab Poonawalla testified in court in Delhi on November 22 that he killed his live-in partner Shraddha “in the heat of the moment” while being accused of killing his lover Shraddha Walker. After a special hearing today, the Saket court extended the police custody of Aftab Poonawalla for the following four days.

Aftab, who had previously admitted to planning to murder Shraddha a week prior, is now claiming that the crime was committed in the heat of the moment.
Aftab had said, “What happened that happened in heat of the moment.” He stated that he is helping with the investigation and that it is hard for him to remember what happened. He appeared in court through video conferencing. Aftab will likely take a polygraph examination today before the scheduled narcotics test in the following five days.
Delhi Police wants to conduct polygraph test
In order to test Aftab with a polygraph, the Delhi police have petitioned a lower court. They asserted that he is trying to mislead the police and refusing to cooperate with the inquiry.
The Mehrauli forest is still being searched by the Delhi police for Shraddha’s mortal remains in order to gather evidence for the murder case.
Three days after moving into their new home after relocating to Delhi from Mumbai, Aftab killed his girlfriend Shraddha Walker in May of this year. The 35 pieces of Shraddha’s body that Aftab had chopped with a saw in his bathroom and dumped in the Mehrauli forests and surrounding places. He had kept the body parts in the refrigerator for a few days. He had invited several people, including girls he was dating at the time.
