Five Army Jawans Martyred in Encounter with Terrorists in J&K’s Rajouri

Rajouri: In an encounter with terrorists on Friday in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, an explosion claimed the lives of five Army jawans. The terrorists suspected of being responsible for the Poonch terror assault are being flushed out as part of a combined effort. In a terror incident last month in Poonch, five Army jawans died. Sticky explosives and steel bullets were utilised. To flush out the terrorists, a major cordon and search operation was initiated, supported by drones, metal detectors, and sniffer dogs. In the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri, the operation has now reached 12 locations.

Several more soldiers suffered critical injuries

The Army stated in a statement that an operation was initiated on Friday at approximately 7:30 am to flush out terrorists involved in an ambush on an army convoy in the Tota Gali region based on specific intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in Kandi Forest in Rajouri. A group of terrorists deeply ensconced in a cave were quickly reached by a search squad. However, the terrorists responded by detonating an explosive device. Several more soldiers suffered critical injuries, and two men perished instantly. In its most recent statement, the Army claimed that three injured soldiers passed away in a hospital, bringing the death toll to five. A bunch of terrorists are stranded in the densely forested area with its dangerous cliffs. There is a chance that the terrorists’ group will suffer losses. The procedure is still being carried out.
