He mentioned that the 7th Pay Commission, implemented in 2016, is set to complete its tenure in 2026. To ensure a smooth transition, a dedicated team has already been formed for preparation.
Salary and Pension Hike Expectations
The new pay structure is expected to bring a significant increase in basic salaries. Currently, the minimum basic salary is ₹18,000, which could rise substantially under the 8th Pay Commission. Pensioners are also likely to benefit, with the minimum pension anticipated to increase from ₹9,000 to ₹25,740.
