The report said that the rank could not be determined for 15 countries including Guinea, Mozambique, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Somalia, South Sudan and Syria.

Opposition attacked the government

After the figures of the Global Hunger Index came out, the opposition has dominated the government. Congress leader P Chidambaram said India’s score has deteriorated since 2014 in the eight years of the Modi government. In a tweet, Chidambaram said, Hindutva, Hindi imposition and spreading hatred is not a medicine for hunger. Apart from this, Karti Chidambaram tweeted, BJP government will reject these figures and raid the organization doing the study.

Sisodia took a jibe

After these figures came out, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has also attacked the government. He said, BJP gives speeches about making India a five trillion economy, but 106 countries are better than us in providing two meals a day. He further said, without giving good education to every child of India, number-1 cannot be made.
