India Pakistan War: Considering momentary closure of Jammu, Chandigarh and other airports on the account of current India-Pakistan war, Indian railways asked officials on Friday to run special trains in Border States of India to fulfill the needs of passengers.
Where Will These Special Trains Run?
Indian Railways organised special trains for those passengers who were stuck on the border areas due to the closure of Jammu and Chandigarh airports, as per Ministry of Indian Railways
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw assessed train operations on Friday and released guidelines to operate special trains considering the requirements of the people. Mr. Vaishnaw guided the railway officials to coordinate with diferent government agencies and run trains to help the people in the border regions.
These special trains to run as per requirement along with regular trains.
As per Northern Railways spokesperson Himanshu Upadhaya, Control rooms at different locations such as jammu, ambala and new delhi are monitoring the situation. The reservation pattern and passenger footfall at stations are being observed following which decisions regarding introducing special trains are being taken.
Details about Special Trains Operated So Far
• Four special trains were run from Jammu and Udhampur on Friday.
• Indian Railways run the first special train 04612 from Jammu station at 10.45 a.m. including twelve unreserved coaches and twelve reserved coaches.
• The twenty-coach Vande Bharat Express departed Udhampur at 12.45 p.m. and reached to New Delhi via Jammu and Pathankot.
• Northern Railways also ran five trains which also include a specific tetwenty-coach Vande Bharat Express from Jalandhar to Delhi for the players of IPL and supporting staffs in the recent match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals
• A special train with twenty two LHB coaches was operated from Jammu station at 7 p.m.
• Another special unreserved train from Jammu is planned for Guwahati via Uttar Pradesh and Bihar at 11.55 p.m.
To help the passengers who are stuck around border areas, Indian Railways are running the special trains. These trains are not regular and not pre decided but are running as per requirements of passengers.
