West Bengal Viral Video: As the nation awaits the Supreme Court’s hearing on the Waqf Act, a viral video from West Bengal has sparked outrage. The video features Maulana Ashir Uddin, who claims to be the District President of the All India Imam Association for Uttar Dinajpur district. The West Bengal viral video captures the Maulana issuing an open threat to disrupt national peace if the Supreme Court’s decision does not favour his side. The video, now widely circulated, shows him warning of blocking roads, halting trains, and bringing all movement across the country to a standstill.
In the now-viral video, Maulana Ashir Uddin boldly declares that if the Supreme Court rules against the old Waqf Act, large-scale disruption will follow. “If the Court (Supreme Court) orders that the Waqf Amendment Act is invalid, and if that works in our favour, we will stay peaceful. But if the law goes against us, we won’t let it go,” the Maulana is heard saying.
Watch Here:
"We have a hearing on the 15th. We are waiting until that date. If the law goes in our favour, i.e. if the Court (Supreme Court) Orders that it (Waqf Amendment Act) is invalid and cannot be considered a law, then it will be in our favor, and we will not take any actions. He continues with a warning: “Roads and streets will be blocked. Railways will be blocked in every place. We will stop the trains first. We won’t do this in cities; we will do it in villages. We will stop cars, bikes, trains, and roads — everything will be halted. Not just West Bengal, but we will bring the whole of India to a standstill.”
Sharing the West Bengal viral video on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari lashed out at the Maulana’s statements. He asked: “Is this a threat to the Supreme Court of India? If the ruling isn’t in their favour, they’ll block roads and railway lines? They want to paralyse not only West Bengal but the entire country?”
Taking aim at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Adhikari criticised the lack of police action: “It’s shocking that people who issue such threats aren’t being booked. Law and order is a state subject. Instead of taking action, Mamata Banerjee is all set to share a stage with such radical leaders tomorrow—against the Waqf Amendment Act, which is now the law of the land.”
With the Supreme Court gearing up to hear a significant petition on the validity of the Waqf Act, tensions are visibly mounting. The video featuring Maulana Ashir Uddin has amplified concerns, especially with threats being made even before a verdict is announced.
