Lockdown extended in West Bengal till 15 July

The West Bengal government extended restrictions across the state till July 15 in view of the COVID-19 situation. As per the revised orders, the state will remain locked til July 15.

The chief minister also announced certain relaxations in the new guidelines.

Relaxation as per the new guidelines

private buses in the state will operate at 50% capacity.

Also, offices have been allowed to open with 50% manpower.

Similarly, salons and gyms are also allowed to function with 50% capacity.

Bazaar, markets to open from 6 am to 12 pm. All retail stores to remain open from 11 am to 8 pm.

Banks to open between 10 am to 2 pm.

Staff special trains and metro to remain operational.

What is the current COVID-19 situation in West Bengal?

West Bengal currently has 14.94 lakh COVID-19 cases, out of which 21,884 are active cases. The state had on Sunday reported 1,836 new positives while 29 people had succumbed to the infection, said the West Bengal health department.
