Niranjan Kumar, son of Arvind Kumar, a resident of Pakribarawan block of Bihar’s Nawada district, secured the 535th rank in UPSC. The whole neighbourhood has taken immense pride in Kumar’s success. The young bright mind from a small village has given hope to many youngsters who aim to pursue their career in civil services.

This is not the first time that Niranjan cracked the UPSC exam. He had appeared once back in 2016 wherein he had secured the 728th rank and became an IRS officer back then. Currently, he is working as a deputy Commissioner of Income Tax in Delhi.

His mother Yashoda Devi and father Arvind Kumar are very happy with him. Kumar will soon leave Delhi to go visit them, according to an India Today report.

Kumar comes from a lower middle class family. His father Arvind Kumar used to have a tobacco shop but the Covid-19 pandemic forced him to shut down. He has not reopened it yet due to health concerns.

Despite the constraints and struggle, the civil servant’s family made sure he could continue his education. Now elated with his success, Kumar’s parents with teary eyed thank their son for making them proud.
