Odisha Train Tragedy: Railway officials dismiss claims

The Railway officials today dismissed that the Kavach system could not have prevented the accident since the reaction time and distance was very short as the train was travelling on a very high speed. If an obstruction comes suddenly in front of a high moving vehicle then no technology will be able to prevent an accident. With the restoration work underway atleast two railway lines are expected to be operational by evening. We expect that trains will start running at a slow speed , a probe is already underway. Railway is investigating all the possible angles. Prima Facie it appears to be an issue of signaling, but we cannot authenticate as of now.
