Peshawar Attack: India condemns the deadly attack, extends deep condolences to the neighbouring nation

Peshawar Attack: On Tuesday, India condemned the terrorist incident in Peshawar, Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths of over 90 people. On Monday, a bomber broke into the Peshawar Police Department’s grounds. When he detonated bombs, a local mosque had more than 300 people inside the premises who were praying.

MEA Spokesperson tweets for condolences

The attack’s perpetrator has been identified as Sarbakaf Mohamand, a commander of the Pakistani Taliban. However, the Pakistani Taliban have denied involvement in the explosion. Taking to Twitter,  MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “India extends its deep condolences to the families of the victims of the terror attack in Peshawar yesterday. We strongly condemn this attack, which has taken the lives of so many people.”

In the Kocha Risaldar district of Peshawar, a similar attack inside a Shia mosque left 63 people dead last year. A truce with the federal government was broken by the TTP, an umbrella organisation of many militant groups, in 2007. The TTP then gave its fighters orders to carry out terrorist strikes across the nation.
