Rahul Gandhi visits Kheer Bhawani temple, Hazratbal shrine in Jammu and Kashmir to mark end of Bharat Jodo Yatra 

Bharat Jodo Yatra: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and party’s General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi reached Mata Kheer Bhawani Durga Temple at Tulmulla in Ganderbal, Kashmir Valley on Tuesday. During this, he took the blessings at the temple and was seen bowing his head as wished for the unity and prosperity of the country. After this, Rahul Gandhi reached Hazratbal Dargah in Srinagar and prayed for peace and peace in the country. This dargah is deeply revered by Muslims in the valley.

Rahul Gandhi visits Mata Kheer Bhawani Durga temple

Giving information, officials said that Rahul and Priyanka along with some Congress leaders paid obeisance at the temple of Raganya Devi, popularly known as Mata Kheer Bhavani. The temple holds great significance for Kashmiri Pandits. They also believe that who believe that the colour of sacred spring water changes as per the situation in the valley. While most colours do not have any significance, if the colour of water is black, it is considered as an inauspicious time for Kashmiris. 

Rahul-Priyanka visit Hazratbal Dargah

Rahul along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi also visited Dargah Hazratbal, which is situated on the banks of famous Dal Lake. The Shrine is home to a relic of Prophet Mohammad. The visit came just a day after the Congress leader culminated his Bharat Jodo Yatra. The visit was kept a secret due to security purpose.

Rahul Gandhi culminated his 136-day-long Bharat Jodo Yatra, which began in Kanyakumari on September 7 last year. 

“I have not done this (Yatra) for myself or for the Congress but for the people of the country. Our aim is to stand against the ideology that wants to destroy the foundation of this country,” he said addressing a gathering at Sher-e-Kashmir stadium.
