Rahul Gandhi’s Tactical Moves to Quell the BJP Storm, Says ‘Fighting Against Asura-Shakti’

Examine the political figure Rahul Gandhi's calculated actions to lessen criticism and restore public image in the wake of the issue surrounding his comments on "Asura-Shakti."

Rahul Gandhi addressed the reporters shortly after the top brass of the Congress concluded a news conference on Thursday to voice concerns regarding “frozen party accounts.” He stated, “We are fighting against hatred-filled ‘Asura-shakti.”

BJP’s Reaction

It should be mentioned that Gandhi’s “Asura-Shakti” statement was made after the Congress leader’s comments about “fighting against a shakti” prompted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to file a complaint with the Indian Election Commission.

BJP Lodges Protest with Election Commission

Gandhi’s “shakti” comment prompted The BJP to lodge a protest with the EC on Wednesday. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri informed reporters that he gave the poll panel a thorough presentation after reading Gandhi’s words verbatim.

“By calling a government elected by the people ‘Asura’shakti,’ the Congress is confirming that they have no faith in the people of India, voters of India, those who determine the destiny of India,” BJP lawmaker Nalin Kohli said in response to Gandhi’s “Asuri-Shakti” remark, according to news agency ANI.

“Do they believe that people vote for Asuras? The fact of the matter is that the Congress party has no credible reason to go before the people, it’s looking for excuses and others to blame for their inadequacies,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi’s Mumbai Rally Statement

At a rally in Mumbai on Sunday, Gandhi had said, “We are not fighting against a political party…We are not fighting against Narendra Modi or a single person. However, one face has been projected to the forefront”.

“In Hinduism, there is a term called ‘shakti’. We’re fighting a ‘shakti’ (power). The question arises as to what that ‘shakti’ is…,” he said in front of multiple I.N.D.I.a group of opposition chiefs.
