As per the latest updates on Raja Raghuwanshi murder case, police have revealed that his wife, Sonam (the prime accused), was hiding in a dark flat in Indore for nearly two weeks. During this time, she reportedly watched news reports about the murder, tracking every police move and public reaction.

Sonam had gone into hiding after Raja (her husband) was allegedly killed during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. She stayed in a flat in Hirabagh Colony from May 26 to June 8. No lights, no contact, just the TV, where she followed her own case.

Sonam Hid After Murder Of Raja Raghuwanshi, Left When Akash Was Caught

Raja, a 29-year-old transporter from Indore, was murdered on May 23 in Sohra (Cherrapunji). Police say the murder was planned by his wife, Sonam, her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha, and three contract killers (Vishal Chauhan, Akash, and Anand Kurmi).

Soon after the crime, Sonam dumped a scooter and quietly left Shillong. She reached Indore and was hidden in a flat rented under Vishal Chauhan’s name. The lights were kept off, and no one was allowed to know she was there. All she did was follow the murder coverage on television.

According to police, Sonam made her move as soon as Akash was arrested. She left the hideout immediately. Raj Kushwaha allegedly arranged a taxi worth Rs 30,000 and sent her to Ghazipur to avoid police detection.

Family Wants Narco Test For Sonam And Kushwaha

Police have now confirmed Sonam’s movements. Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotia said that Meghalaya Police has verified her stay in Indore. Both Sonam and Raj will be brought to Indore for further questioning and evidence collection.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family wants a deeper probe. Raja’s elder brother, Sachin Raghuvanshi, has demanded a narco analysis test on both Sonam Raghuwanshi and Raj Kushwaha.

Sachin told PTI, “We want the Meghalaya police to conduct a narco test (also called truth serum test) on Sonam and Kushwaha so that the full truth behind my brother's murder comes out.”

He also raised concerns about the interrogation and said, “They may be misleading investigators by blaming each other as the mastermind of the brutal killing.”

So far, five people have been arrested, including Sonam and Raj. The case is being investigated by an SIT.
