Mohan Bhagwat: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat delivered his Vijayadashami speech in Nagpur with messages of national unity and responsibility as well as India’s increasing influence around the world. Sticking to the themes of instability, content on OTT, addiction and the inspiring story of Smit Machchhar, the speech was full of important issues.
Strong Message On National Unity
“I think the biggest strength of India is emotional integrity and inclusiveness. They all have to move ahead while respecting all identities and all beliefs,” the chief of the VHP said. “The notion of an organised and assured Hindu society is not opposed to any faith; on the contrary it is to foster fraternity, camaraderie and affective unity amongst the community.”
Strong Position on Change of Regime
The RSS chief also said that changing regimes does not always lead to change in a country. About recent unrest in France, Nepal, Bangladesh and Albania, said regime change has not achieved the results that it did to its advocates. “India will stay strong and united. No matter how much you try to weaken it or break it, we won’t let it happen,” Bhagwat said. While protests are legitimate, he said, they should not be used to undermine the constitutional institutions of the country.

Call For Responsible OTT Content
Bhagwat stresses on the importance of age-appropriate and rational content on OTT. “Improper content can impact children and the government must look into proper regulatory measures,” he said. His case appealed to a new generation of guardians of the sacred cow, calling on digital platforms to strike a balance between “creative freedom and social responsibility”.
Appeal Against Drug Abuse
The head of RSS also sounded alarm about the increasing use of drugs by young people. He made an appeal to youth to stay away from drugs and exert pressure to prevent them from taking the drug. He related this matter to the bigger objective of establishing a strong, disciplined, confident community which can be a positive force in nation building.
Praise For Smit Machchhar’s Courage
Bhagwat appreciated Captain Smit Machchhar for the manner in which he responded during an apparent hijacking attempt on the Tel Aviv-bound flydubai flight. Bhagwat said the way the pilot responded was an act of courage and mental presence in a challenging situation. Commenting on the matter, he said this would be an attitude of responsibility, service and courage which can motivate people. Bhagwat said the spirit of which unites a person without denying his existence.
A Vision For India’s Future
Mohan Bhagwat: In conclusion, Bhagwat’s speech emphasized unity, discipline, love for one’s culture and development. He expressed confidence that India, with its broader perspective, can lead the world out of its social and moral crises and called on everyone to make collective efforts for a better India.
