Sukhoi 30 and Mirage 2000 crash in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena, details here

Airforce Plane Crash: Near Morena, Madhya Pradesh, two aircraft—a Sukhoi-30 and a Mirage 2000—have crashed. According to the sources, search and rescue activities have been started. They claimed that an exercise was taking place when the two planes took off from the Madhya Pradesh air base of Gwalior. According to Morena Collector, the crash happened at 5.30 am. He stated that both pilots had successfully ejected and only suffered minor wounds.

From the Madhya Pradesh air base near Gwalior, where an exercise was taking place, the two planes took off. Morena ASP Rai Singh Narwariya said, “Airforce team is reaching the spot to confirm about the plane and number of people present in it. Police found a hand near the plane.”

Ankit Asthana, Morena DC, said, “Pilots have been traced and cops and local administration are at the spot for rescue operations. Pilots have received injuries and they are safe.” In constant communication with IAF head VR Chaudhari, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is keeping an eye on the situation.

A mid-air collision was determined to have occurred or not by the IAF court of inquiry. There were two Su-30 pilots present at the time of the incident, compared to just one Mirage 2000 pilot. According to early reports, both pilots are safe, and an IAF chopper is en route to the third pilot’s location, defence sources told media.
