Tripura: Eleven new cabinet ministers of CM Manik-led govt takes oath

Eleven ministers were inducted into Manik Saha’s council of ministers on Monday a day after he was sworn in as the Tripura chief minister following his predecessor Biplab Kumar Deb’s resignation from the post.

Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya administered the oath to the ministers Jishnu Devvarma, Ratan Lal Nath, Pranajit Singha Roy, Manoj Kanti Deb, Shantana Chakma, Ram Prasad Paul, Bhagaban Chandra Das, Sushanta Chowdhury, NC Debbarma. Other than Jamatia and Reang, the rest of the ministers were also part of Deb’s council of ministers.

Two new ministers, Ram Pada Jamatia of the BJP and Prem Kumar Reang of the IPFT were inducted in the newly formed cabinet while Mever Kumar Jamatia of the IPFT from the previous cabinet were dropped.

The new cabinet would pursue the “unfulfilled dreams of former CM Biplab Kumar Deb”, said Sushanta Chowdhury, shortly after he was sworn in as a cabinet minister.
