Viral Video: On the Gaya-Koderma section of the Dhanbad division of the East Central Railway (ECR), near Gurpa railway station on Wednesday morning, at least 53 waggons of a goods train carrying coal derailed. An engine dragged a wagon of the derailed goods train, and people could be seen escaping the scene after 53 waggons of the goods train derailed close to Gurpa station on the Gaya-Koderma railway line.
According to a statement from East Central Railway (ECR), the event happened at roughly 6.24 am between Koderma and Manpur railway stations in the Dhanbad division, the incident caused rail traffic on the section's Up and Down lines to be interrupted.

The incident caused fear at the railway station, and the incident's footage is becoming viral on social media. “On 26.10.2022, 53 wagons of a coal-laden goods train derailed at Gurpa station between Koderma and Manpur railway section of Dhanbad division at 06.24 am today, resulting in disruption of rail traffic on Up and Down lines. There have been no casualties in the incident,” East Central Railway said in a bulletin on Twitter.
According to a top ECR Zone source reported by PTI, "The exact cause of this is yet to be known. Railway teams have started work to restore the lines." -Fortunately, no one was hurt as a result of the incident.

Following the incident, a statement was released which indicated that ten trains were redirected to different lines and four were partially terminated. In light of the derailment of a freight train at Gurpa in the Dhanbad division, the railway has also provided helpline numbers for the convenience of travellers.
According to a further update from East Central Railway, partial terminations have been made to the 13305 Dhanbad-Dehri On Sone Intercity Express, 13553 Asansol-Varanasi Express, 13546 Gaya-Asansol Express, and 13545 Asansol-Gaya Express, all of which are scheduled to depart from Dhanbad.
