Hardeep Singh Nijjar: According to sources, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan planned the murder of terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada to sour relations between India and Canada. According to sources, ISI also pressured Nijjar to fully assist gangsters who had immigrated to Canada in the previous two years and had recruited criminals to assassinate Nijjar.

Nijjar's Loyalty to Past Khalistani Leaders and ISI's Quest for a Replacement

Nijjar, however, had a preference for the previous Khalistani leaders. Additionally, according to sources, the ISI is allegedly searching for Nijjar's replacement after his murder and preparing to round up terrorists who support Afghanistan in Canada.

Diplomatic Spat Erupts Between India and Canada Over Nijjar's Murder Accusations

After Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, recently accused Indian agents of "potential" participation in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar on June 18 in British Columbia, there was a diplomatic tiff. Later, New Delhi refuted Canada's assertion, calling it "absurd" and "motivated". Additionally, India said that it will temporarily stop issuing visas to Canadians and requested that Ottawa reduce its diplomatic representation there.

India Calls for UN Members to Address Terrorism Without Political Bias

India urged the UN members on Tuesday to avoid letting "political convenience" dictate how to respond to terrorism, extremism, and bloodshed. Speaking to the 78th UN General Assembly, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar added that respect for territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs cannot be "exercises in cherry picking," arguing that the time when a small number of countries set the agenda and expected everyone else to follow suit is over.
