Weather Update: IMD predicts light rain showers in Delhi-NCR today, moderate to intense convection in Central India

Delhi-NCR Weather update: Heavy rain lashed several parts of Delhi-NCR sudden on Thursday evening. After a strong thunderstorm on the second consecutive day, Friday appeared to be a bright sunny day with light rain showers in the morning. The sudden change in weather has offered respite from heatwaves which grappled the region in the initial weeks of March.

Orange alert for Delhi-NCR region

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather of Delhi will remain pleasant for the next three-four days. Rain, hailstorms like weather will remain  till April 5 in the Delhi-NCR region, the IMD said, issuing an orange alert. The daytime temperature over the next two days is expected to drop. The maximum temperature on Friday is likely to hover around 27 degrees Celsius, in comparison to the maximum temperature on Thursday which was recoded at 34 degree. The air quality in the city also continued to be moderate and has improved on Friday. However, along with rain, there is also a possibility of dust storm later in the day.

Predictions for upcoming days

According to the Meteorological Department, Saturday will be a bright day with pleasant weather. There is no possibility of rain on Sunday as well. However, heavy rainfall may lash Delhi/NCR and its adjoining area. The minimum temperature here can reach up to 18 degrees, while maximum temperature can be recorded at 28 degree celsius.

Moderate to intense rain in Central India

The IMD has predicted isolated rainfall/thunderstorm, lightning/gutsy winds every likely over the region on 31st March. 

“Moderate to intense convection over central Rajasthan, south Uttarakhand & adjoining UP, north Bihar, East MP, central Chhattisgarh, Odisha, central Andhra Pradesh leading to possibility of rainfall/thunderstorm/hailstorm/lightning/gusty winds during next 2-3 hours,” the IMD said.
