Weather Update: The meteorological service has forecasted mostly clear skies, heatwaves ranging from mild to extreme, as well as strong surface winds in Delhi. The recent dry period in the city may come to an end today, according to the IMD's prediction of increased cloud cover and a marked increase in rainfall activity.

According to IMD, there will likely be some areas of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. The IMD forecast calls for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in certain areas across Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. In Goa, Gujarat, Kerala and Odisha, there have been some areas of heavy rainfall. However the same is predicted for Bihar and Maharashtra including their capitals. In several districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, there is a high probability of heat waves, including severe ones. Moreover certain regions of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan are experiencing heat waves.
