West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has led a 'Padayatra' in Siliguri to protest against the hike in the prices of LPG cylinders.

Countering the BJP's rhetoric of change in Bengal and bringing in "Asol Poriborton" in West Bengal, Bannerjee has said that the change will happen but not in Delhi but in Bengal.

Mamata Banerjee hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said "PM should explain why petrol and diesel prices have gone up".

She later said that the people of Bnegal would be under grave threat of a "divisive force" like BJP wil take the charge on the state.

"We have staged a symbolic protest to show the Union govt and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is in Kolkata. PM should answer why petrol disel and LPG prices have gone up," Mamata Banerjee said.

In a sharp attack, Mamata Banerjee said PM Narendra Modi "only delivers speech". As LPG prices are rising, "PM Modi's tolabaji is on the rise too", she said.

"PM delivers speech only. He says Bengal will witness a political change of guard. But, infact, Centre will see a change in power," Mamata Banerjee said.

"He is talking about Sonar Bangla! What about Sonar India? LPG prices are rising, kitchen is on fire and PM Modi's tolabaji is on the rise too," Mamata Banerjee said.

"He (PM Modi) speaks of tolabaazi, he is the biggest tolabaj. You and your Adani friends are doing the biggest tolabaji by selling public assets," Mamata Banerjee said.

Mamata Bannerjee has also targeted the Centre's move to place the image of PM Modi on the COVID-19 vaccination certificate.

"During Covid, he could not come. I was on the streets. Today, his face is on the Covid certificate. He is putting his face on injections? What is this? Our scientists work hard and he is putting his face on ISRO's mission too?," Mamata Banerjee said.
