Egg Stamping: No Sale Of Eggs Without Expiry Date From April 1 In This State, Check Details Now

Egg Stamping

Egg Stamping: From April 1, it would be mandatory for sellers of eggs to stamp each egg with its expiry date.

It would also be mandatory for egg sellers to carry the day on which they were laid. The Uttar Pradesh government announced that farmers and traders who don’t obey with this rule would have the option of either getting their produce destroyed or the eggs would be stamped ‘not fit for human consumption’, according to officers from the animal husbandry department.

Egg Stamping-Rules

Under the Food Safety & Drug Administration rules, eggs are considered safe to be consumed within 2 weeks of being laid if they are stored at favourable temperature conditions of approximately 30 degrees Celsius or within a period of 5 weeks if stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, eggs could not be stored with vegetables in cold storage as they require different temperatures.

Mukesh Meshram, Additional chief secretary, animal husbandry and dairy, commented that there are only 2 cold storages for eggs as of now in the state of Uttar Pradesh, one each in Jhansi and Agra. Meshram remarked that rules were not strictly followed in many cases.

Impact on Consumers, Farmers and Markets

For everyday buyers in the state, this would mean fresher eggs and fewer cases of food poisoning. The egg stamping process would be appreciated by health-conscious individuals as stamped eggs would make tracking of nutrition easy. Moreover, it would ensure that egg lovers would get peak protein without second thoughts.

However, farmers and traders dealing in eggs should need to invest in better storage and stamping tools at the earliest or risk huge losses. The egg stamping process would help follow stringent compliance checks that would ensure cleaner supply chains and trust-building.

Singer Armaan Malik has sparked a strong debate online after he openly criticised the new song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt from the upcoming film KD: The Devil. The track has already gone viral on social media, but not for the right reasons. Many users have called out its lyrics and dance moves, saying the song crosses the line of decency.

Soon after Armaan Malik shared his reaction, several netizens joined the discussion. While some agreed with him, others joked about the situation and demanded that he release a new song to “cleanse” their ears after hearing the track.

The song, sung by Mangli with lyrics by Raqeeb Alam and music by Arjun Janya, has been criticised for its double-meaning lines and suggestive visuals. Many listeners felt the lyrics compared a woman to alcohol using indirect references, which did not go down well with a section of the audience.

Internet Reacts After Armaan Malik Criticises Nora Fatehi Song

Armaan Malik took to social media after the song appeared on his timeline. He said he was shocked after hearing it and could not believe the lyrics. Sharing his reaction, he wrote, “This showed up on my timeline and I had to replay it just to make sure I heard it right. Sad to see commercial songwriting hit a new low.”

In another post, he added, “I am genuinely at a loss of words. Wish I could unhear it”.

His posts quickly went viral, and social media users started reacting in large numbers. Some fans teased him, while others agreed that the song was uncomfortable to listen to.

One user joked, “Aapke andar ka Amaal jaag raha hai kuch dino se.”

Another wrote, “Humne kya paap kiya hai jo hume bhi suna Diya aapne.”

A third comment that grabbed attention read, “Acid se kaan dhone padenge. We had no clue this existed. You made us hear it, give us a new song with amaal to cleanse our ears and soul.”

Another person added, “Sunke hi uncomfortable hogaya , don’t know how actors are even agreeing to do such songs.”

Several users also compared the song to over-the-top item numbers and said the makers went too far this time. One comment read, “Bhojpuri songs finally have a worthy competitor,” while another wrote, “Nora Fatehi’s new song has crossed all the limits of vulgarity.”

The song was released on Sunday and quickly gained attention online. Within two days, it had already received nearly five million views on YouTube. The controversy has only increased its reach.

More About The Song And Film KD: The Devil

“Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” is part of the upcoming Kannada pan-India film KD: The Devil. The song is shot in a bar-style set where Nora Fatehi performs with several background dancers, which has also added to the criticism about its bold presentation.

KD: The Devil is a period action drama directed by Prem and produced under the KVN Productions banner. The film is set in the underworld of 1970s Bengaluru and is inspired by real incidents linked to a notorious gangster. The story follows the character Kaalidasa, played by Dhruva Sarja, as he deals with violence, rivalry and family emotions.

The film also stars Shilpa Shetty, V Ravichandran and Ramesh Aravind in important roles. Sanjay Dutt plays a key character named Dhak Deva, who is described as neither a hero nor a villain but a powerful figure in the story. His look in the film is inspired by the 1970s style and even reminds fans of his famous role in Khal Nayak.

The makers are planning to release the film in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. After several delays, KD: The Devil is now scheduled to release in theatres on April 30, 2026.

Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max Leak Wave Builds Momentum, Signaling a Powerful Shift in Apple’s Strategy for Its 2026 Flagship, Check

Apple- iPhone- 18- Pro- Max
Google

Recent leaks say that Apple is going to change the design of the iPhone 18 Pro Max in a big way. Under-display Face ID might be the most interesting feature, as it could make the Dynamic Island completely unnecessary.

Instead, Apple is expected to go with a simpler full-screen look that uses a small pinhole camera. The back will still have three cameras, but they will be in a more elegant glass case and come in new high-end colours like deep purple and burgundy.

Big Camera Jump in Focus

Apple appears to be putting a lot of money into new camera technology for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Leaks point to a mechanical iris system that lets you change the aperture, which isn’t something that happens very often in smartphones.

This update could make depth control and taking pictures in low light much better. Also, it is expected that Samsung’s new three-layer stacked sensor will make dynamic range and image processing speed better.

A Performance Boost

The device will probably be powered by Apple’s upcoming A20 Pro chip, which promises to use less power and run faster. Apple might also make a bigger battery with a steel case to make it last longer and be safer.

With the Pro Max’s large 6.9-inch 120Hz screen, which makes the user experience smooth and interesting, display sizes are likely to stay the same.

Apple’s Change of Plans for 2026

It’s interesting that Apple might change how it launches the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Reports say that only Pro models and maybe a foldable iPhone will come out in 2026.

If the iPhone 18 is released in two parts, it might not come out until 2027. This move could help Apple better manage production, reduce overlap, and keep a steady stream of revenue coming in.

Did Shah Rukh Khan Insult Neil Nitin Mukesh By Cracking A Joke On Him At An Award Show? Vir Das Reveals THIS After Fan Query

A viral moment from the 2009 Filmfare Awards featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh often resurfaces on social media, with many viewers believing the actor was genuinely offended after a joke about his name. However, comedian Vir Das has now clarified that the entire exchange was scripted and planned in advance. His response came after a fan brought up the old clip while discussing why Indian award shows rarely feature roast-style hosting.

The conversation started after the Oscars 2026, when Vir Das shared his thoughts on why Indian film awards do not follow the style of comedians like Ricky Gervais or Conan O’Brien. While explaining the challenges, he also addressed the old Filmfare moment and revealed that he was part of the writing team at the time.

Vir Das On Shah Rukh Khan-Neil Nitin Mukesh Award Show Moment

Recently, Vir Das shared that he had worked on scripts for several award functions and explained why roast-style humour is difficult in India. In his note, Vir wrote, “Why doesn’t India do a Gervais or even a Conan-style hosting of a major film awards? Well, as someone who wrote the script for many Indian awards for five years. Here’s why. The point of having comedians host and roast the Oscars or film awards is that for a night, a jester would humanise the most beautiful chosen people in the world, since they were being celebrated already. That’s when any joke is a punch-up.”

He added, “Here, star egos won’t take a joke from anyone not at their level. Ironically, the bigger the star who hosts, the trickier it’s gonna be. Because like three people are at that level. So a huge star hosting works for the people in the room, just not always funny for the people watching. Simply because the power imbalance is off.”

The comedian then explained the reality behind the viral clip after a netizen commented, “I remember Neil Nitin Mukesh getting offended when SRK (& Saif?) cracked a joke on his name.” Responding to this, the comedian clarified that the moment was NOT real but written as part of the show.

He said, “We wrote that bit. It was supposed to come off as silly. Neil was in on the joke and it was scripted. Great sport. Worked in the room. But they added dramatic music underneath it and edited it like a TV serial. So everyone took it seriously.”

What Really Happened At The 2009 Filmfare Awards

The moment in question took place during the 2009 Filmfare Awards when Shah Rukh Khan, who was hosting the show, joked about Neil Nitin Mukesh’s name while interacting with him in the audience.

SRK said, “I have a question for Neil Nitin Mukesh. Tumhara naam hai Neil Nitin Mukesh, bhaiya surname kahan pe hai? Saare ke saare first names hain (Your name is Neil Nitin Mukesh, you have three names, but where is the surname? Why don’t you have a surname?”

Neil first responded politely and thanked Shah Rukh Khan for the question, then asked if he could say something in return. After getting permission, he said he felt the joke was insulting, especially because his father was present at the event. He said, “That is an insult for me actually, I feel. My father is sitting here, and I think you guys just need to shut up. I’m sorry.”

The clip went viral at the time, and many viewers believed Neil was genuinely upset. However, the actor later clarified in interviews that the exchange was done in good humour. According to him, Shah Rukh had informed him beforehand that they were planning a fun segment and told him he could react however he liked.

The act continued on stage, where Neil even joined the hosts and jokingly cracked eggs on Shah Rukh’s head

“Immoral and Barbaric” Afghanistan Spinner Rashid Khan Demands Justice for 400 Lives Lost In Pakistan’s Barbaric Attack, Check Latest Update

Rashid- Khan
Google

The airstrike on a drug rehabilitation hospital in Kabul killed at least 400 people and injured over 250, creating a tremendous amount of anger around the world. The airstrike, which took place on March 16th, was supposedly aimed at the Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital, which suffered extensive damage as well as disruption from the airstrike.

Rescue crews worked tirelessly all night, while Afghan officials reported that many of the fatalities were civilians. There are major concerns for the safety of civilians in war zones based on the destruction and loss of life that occurred during and after the airstrike. Rashid Khan is calling the airstrike a “war crime.”

Afghan cricket player Rashid Khan strongly condemned the attack, calling it “immoral and barbaric.”

He wrote on X that he was very sad about the deaths of innocent people and blamed those responsible for “sheer disregard for human lives.”

He went on to say that it is a war crime to target homes, hospitals, or schools on purpose or by accident. Rashid also asked the UN to look into the event right away, especially since it happened during the holy month of Ramadan.

Pakistan says it doesn’t target civilians.

Pakistan says the strike was aimed at militant hideouts and denies that it hit civilians.

Afghan cricketers talk about their pain

A number of Afghan players joined Rashid Khan in condemning the attack. Mohammad Nabi, a veteran all-rounder, said that the loss of young lives trying to recover was “hope extinguished” that night.

Others, like Gulbadin Naib and Fazalhaq Farooqi, spoke out against these attacks as cruel and wrong and showed their support for the victims and their families.

Pump Credit Frozen, India’s Petrol Pumps Gear Up For Shortage Shock! Would Oil Shortage Hit India After LPG Shortage?

Energy Crisis

Energy Crisis: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Limited have suspended fuel on credit to limit the offtake of petrol and diesel by retail outlets in the country.

According to media reports, Indian Oil has halted its five-day revolving credit policy on Monday while BPCL and HPCL have started advance payments from last weeks.

Energy Crisis-Will This Cause An Oil Shortage In India?

BPCL, HPCL and Indian Oil serve the country’s nearly 100,000 retail fuel stations. Agriculture and industrial buyers who buy fuel on credit may also take a hit. After LPG shortage in the country, a shortage in the supplies of petrol and diesel in the country may aggravate the common man’s plight.

Nischal Singhania, President of Delhi Petrol Dealers’ Association, remarked the primary of oil marketing companies may be retailers who have a default record. Singhania added that the move is focused at ensuring economic prudence in the prevailing Middle East crisis while also making sure a lower-than-usual offtake because of the requirement for upfront payment.

Potential Petrol And Diesel Supply Disruptions On Cards?

As the revolving credit facility gets put off, dealers may anticipate chaos, especially in regions where bulk credit sales to transport, agriculture and other industries form a large revenue share. Credit halts to petrol and diesel pumps could soon translate into reducing farming and transport activities. This, in turn, results in indirectly tightening of overall demand and station restocking.

What Is A Revolving Credit Facility?

A form of business finance, revolving credit facility is leveraged by small medium enterprises and others to navigate seasonal trading, uneven cash flow or time-sensitive opportunities.

The facility allows businesses to draw funds, repay the borrowed funds and draw again up to a specific limit, paying interest only on the used amount.

Revolving credit facility allows petrol and diesel pump owners to bridge short-term, working capital gaps along with funding supplier payments or operational costs. It also helps in covering time-sensitive or urgent expenses and managing seasonal fluctuations.

Rajya Sabha Elections: Cross-Voting And Absenteeism Hit Opposition, NDA Wins It Big Time, Is Mahagathbandhan Over, Would This Affect Upcoming State Poll Results?

Rajya Sabha Elections

Rajya Sabha Elections: Massive setbacks were in cards for the opposition bloc after Rajya Sabha candidates backed by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) went on to winning big time. The results were significantly influenced by the absent of many legislators and cross-voting during polling. This tipped the crucial balance in the favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies.

Rajya Sabha Elections-Bihar Seats Swept By NDA

All five seats of Bihar in the Rajya Sabha contest were won by NDA. BJP leaders Nitin Nabin and Shivesh Kumar, JDU leader Nitish Kumar, Rashtriya Lok Morcha leader Upendra Kushwaha and Union Minister Ram Nath Thakur were declared winners.

Cross-Voting And Absenteeism

Three MLAs from the Indian National Congress and one from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were not present at the voting during the Rajya Sabha elections. This proved costly for AD Singh, the sitting MLA of RJD, who failed to retain his Upper House seat.

Setback For Tejashwi Yadav

The political circles in Bihar soon started talking about discord of RJD with Congress. RJD followers blamed the defeat on the internal disarray of Congress instead of their own shortcoming.

RJD Chief Tejasvi Yadav had reached out to Bahujan Samaj Party’s lone MLA, AIMIM leader Akhtarul Iman and an independent MLA from the Indian Inclusive Party (IIP). Despite these moves, the Indian National Congress failed to manage its set of disgruntled legislators. According to media reports, many MLAs have been unhappy within the Congress for long but their demands have been left unaddressed by top party leadership.

Immediately after the defeat, the RJD Chief blamed the BJP of engaging in horse-trading. Yadav alleged that the MLAs who voted against the alliance or abstained were “influenced” by BJP.

Surprise Results In Odisha Poll

BJP candidates Sujeet Kumar and Manmohan Samal won along with BJD candidate Santrupt Misra. Dilip Ray, backed by BJP, surprised one and all by winning against the joint BJD-Congress candidate Datteswar Hota.

It is believed that the ongoing tussles between Mahagathbandhan parties would also severely impact poll results in states such as West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry – all of which would go to state elections in the coming months.

Celina Jaitly: ‘My Only Intention Was…’ Actress Breaks Silence After Detained Brother Refuses To Meet Her, Declines Legal Support

Actor Celina Jaitly has reacted after the Delhi High Court dismissed her petition seeking help to meet her brother, Vikrant Jaitly, who is currently detained in the United Arab Emirates. The actress shared an emotional note on social media and said her only aim was to ensure his safety and dignity, even though he refused to meet her and declined legal support.

The High Court closed the case on March 16 after it was informed that Vikrant had already been given consular access but chose not to contact his sister or accept legal assistance. After the hearing, Celina thanked the court and the Government of India and explained why she had approached the judiciary.

Celina Jaitly REACTS After Brother Refuses To Contact Her

On Monday, Celina posted on Instagram and shared an old family photo with her brother and their parents. Along with the picture, she wrote a long note thanking the Delhi High Court for hearing her plea. She wrote, “Gratitude to the Hon’ble Court & Government of India. Today was the last hearing of my writ petition before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi.”

She explained the reason behind filing the petition and said, “I had approached the Hon’ble Court out of deep concern for the safety, security & well-being of my brother, Maj Vikrant Kumar Jaitly. He is in a foreign nation, and as his sister, especially in the absence of our parents, I felt it was my duty to ensure that he was not left without protection or support. I am myself navigating extremely difficult personal circumstances, including ongoing matrimonial proceedings, yet my concern for my brother’s welfare compelled me to seek judicial intervention.”

Celina also said she received updates from the authorities about her brother’s situation. She was informed that he had been given legal access several times and would continue to receive proper legal representation. She said this made her feel relieved and reassured that the Government of India is supporting him.

She further thanked the court, the legal system and the Ministry of External Affairs for looking into the matter. In her note, she also thanked Senior Partner Sandeep Kapur for standing by her brother and Senior Advocate Sanjay Jain for his support during the case.

Ending her message on an emotional note, Celina wrote, “My only intention has always been his safety, dignity & fair treatment. I remain hopeful & thankful for the continued support extended to him by our Government as a son of our nation.”

Check her post below

Why High Court Closed The Matter

Celina Jaitly’s brother, Major Vikrant Jaitly, a retired Indian Army officer, has been detained in the United Arab Emirates since September 6, 2024. According to reports, the case is linked to alleged national security concerns, but the exact charges have not been made public.

Celina had earlier raised concerns about the long period without clear updates, legal representation or direct communication with him. Because of this, she filed a petition in the Delhi High Court asking for help to meet her brother and ensure his safety.

However, during the hearing on March 16, the court was told that Vikrant had already been given consular access. Authorities also said that he refused legal representation and did not want to communicate with his sister. The court noted that he had unequivocally stated that he is not willing to be represented by any of the law firms.

Since he declined both legal help and contact, the High Court decided to close the petition. At the same time, the court directed the authorities to stay in touch with him and continue providing any help available under the law.

Kabul Hospital Attack: Humanity Shattered, Brutality Wins Again! Over 400 Killed And 250 Wounded In Attack By Asim Munir’s Pakistan

Kabul Hospital Attack

Kabul Hospital Attack: Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have been accused by Afghanistan of carrying out airstrikes on a hospital in Kabul killing more than 400 and injuring over 250 people.

Afghanistan has claimed that military elements in Pakistan have carried out a series of incursion attempts into the territory of Afghanistan. The Taliban government commented that Pakistan has violated the sovereignty of Afghanistan while also causing the deaths of innocent civilians, including women and young children. Pakistan vehemently denied the allegations and said the airstrikes targeted only “terrorist” and military sites.

Claims Refuted By Pakistan

The drug treatment centre treating addicts in Kabul was attacked on Monday evening. According to hospital officials, more than 2,000 individuals were being treated at the hospital when the airstrikes happened.

Sharafat Zaman Amarkhail, a spokesman for the Afghanistan Health Ministry, commented that there were no military facilities in or near the hospital.

The Information Ministry of Pakistan claimed that Afghanistan is misreporting facts to stir sentiments to cover illegitimate support for cross-border terrorism.

Kabul Hospital Attack-Afghani Cricketers Blast Pakistan

Rashid Khan, the legendary right-arm leg spinner, blasted the brutal attacks by Pakistan.

Several prominent Afghanistan cricketers including Rashid Khan, Gulbadin Naib, Azmatullah Omarzai, Naveen-ul-Haq and Mohammad Nabi condemned the brutal airstrikes.

Speedster Naveen-ul-Haq remarked on Facebook that there is not much of a difference between the Pakistani and Israeli regime.

According to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), at least 193 people have been injured while 75 have been killed in cross-border fighting between Pakistan and Afghanistan since February 26.

In October, both Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to a ceasefire but tensions between the two countries soon escalated to new heights.

Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi remarked that he has spoken to his counterparts in Afghanistan and Pakistan so a ceasefire could be reached at the earliest.

Bebasi! Is US Losing Control Over Iran War? Donald Trump Urges Allies to Help, Strait of Hormuz Turns Nightmarish

Donald-Trump

Donald Trump: Due to several attacks on oil vessels, ports, and other vital assets over the course of recent months, the region around the Gulf of Oman has quickly become one of the most dangerous areas in the Middle East. While the war has traditionally focused on fighting the Iranian military, the situation has quickly evolved into a more significant issue of economics and strategy.

The Heart of Tension: The Strait of Hormuz

The location of all of these tensions is the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the most essential waterways for oil in the world. While this narrow waterway provides the main shipping route for nearly 20% of all the world’s oil, it plays a major role in facilitating global trade among different countries.

But Iran’s repeated threats and more attacks on commercial ships have made the strait very dangerous. Shipping companies are now looking into other routes because the cost of transportation and insurance keeps going up. Any problems here will quickly raise fuel prices all over the world, even in India.

Was it a mistake or a strategic failure?

People say that the Trump administration didn’t get how Iran could use drones, missile strikes, and other unusual weapons to respond to attacks. This has caused a long, unpredictable war with no end in sight.

U.S. lawmakers and foreign policy experts are now saying that Washington may have “lost control” of the situation. Markets all over the world are becoming more uncertain because there isn’t a clear plan.

Trump Wants Help!

In an effort to stabilise the area, Donald Trump has asked important allies like Japan, France, and the U.K. to send naval forces to help keep the Strait of Hormuz safe. The world may be headed for a longer and more expensive crisis if diplomatic efforts don’t pick up.

Dharmendra Oscar Snub: ‘Embarrassing, It Is…’ Netizens Say Indian Stars Obsessed With THIS After Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha Express Disappointment

Dharmendra Oscars Snub

Dharmendra Oscar Snub: The absence of late Bollywood legend Dharmendra from the In Memoriam segment at the 98th Academy Awards has started a strong debate online. While his family and colleagues expressed disappointment, many social media users said Indian stars should not look for validation from Western award shows. Some even called the reaction “embarrassing”.

Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89 in November 2025. However, his name was not shown in the televised tribute at the Oscars ceremony held on March 15, 2026. This upset his wife, actor and MP Hema Malini, who said it was “a shame” that the veteran star was not honoured on such a global platform.

Although he was missing from the broadcast segment, Dharmendra’s name was later included in the official online memorial list released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The list also featured Indian film personalities Saroja Devi, Manoj Kumar, Jayasree Kabir, Kota Srinivasa Rao and documentary filmmaker S Krishnaswamy.

Hema Malini Reacts To Dharmendra’s Oscar Snub

In an interview with Subhash K Jha for Bollywood Hungama, Hema Malini shared her disappointment over the omission. She said, “It is a shame, of course. A shame for them to have overlooked an actor who means so many things to so many people in many parts of the world. Dharamji was known and recognised everywhere.”

She also spoke about how Dharmendra never received many awards during his career. She added, “He never got too many awards during his lifetime. Why should he care about the Oscars? Both of us were happy to be loved in our country. But awards always eluded him. Even I didn’t get any award for my best performances in Lal Patthar and Meera.”

Earlier, daughter Esha Deol also reacted to the issue. She said her father would not have been bothered by the omission, as he never cared much about awards or recognition.

Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha also criticised the Academy for leaving Dharmendra out of the tribute. He called the omission a “matter of shame”. He also said that legends like Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar were not properly honoured in the past. However, he added that such recognition does not matter much because these icons remain “entrenched in [our] hearts forever”.

Dharmendra Oscar Snub Debate: Netizens Say Indian Stars Are Obsessed

While film personalities expressed disappointment, many users online had a different opinion. Several Reddit users said the Oscars is mainly an American award show and Indian celebrities should not expect recognition from it.

One user wrote, “I feel that we should give up this obsession for oscar. Why dont we have even 1 single legitimate award show?”

Another commented, “Why are we looking for validation? It’s an award for Americans, not for us.”

One post read, “Embarrassing. Oscars is an American award show not ours. Why are so many Indians obsessed with seeking westerners validation? I guess the effects of colonisation still remains.”

Another user said, “Why do we care so much. Do we mention Hollywood stars in our memorium section?. Why this constant validation?”

A few users also explained that the tribute usually includes artists who had global or Hollywood connections. One comment said, “Both Om Puri and Irrfan Khan were part of the montage at that year’s Oscar in memorium. So were Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor. They don’t snub people. It is based on your contribution to global cinema.”

Another wrote, “I’m not sure Dharmendra ji ever appeared in any Hollywood movie, and I think only Indian actors who have worked in Hollywood productions are included in the momorium section… Also, Dharmendra Ji was much bigger than all this.”

For the unversed, Dharmendra died on November 24, 2025 (after being hospitalised due to declining health). His death left the film industry in mourning. He is survived by his wives Hema Malini and Prakash Kaur, and his children Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. His final film Ikkis (directed by Sriram Raghavan) was released on January 1. Critics praised his performance, but the film underperformed at the box office.

He later served as a Member of Parliament representing Etawah in Uttar Pradesh in 1991 and Hoshiarpur in Punjab in 1996, and subsequently served in the Rajya Sabha.”

Speaking about recent initiatives to honour the leader’s legacy, the Punjab minister added, “Recently, along with my Cabinet colleague Harjot Singh Bains, I visited Babu Kanshi Ram Ji’s associated villages of Khawaspura in Ropar and Pirthipur Bunga in Anandpur Sahib. To honour his legacy locally, the Punjab Government has allocated a ₹2 crore grant for the reconstruction and upgrading of a local school, which will be renamed in honour of Babu Kanshi Ram Ji. Additionally, the government has approved the construction of a high quality library and a modern auditorium in his native village to preserve his historical impact for future generations.”

Referring to earlier political demands on the issue, Harpal Singh Cheema said, “Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal had formally demanded the Bharat Ratna for Babu Kanshi Ram Ji as early as 2016. However, after Babu Kanshi Ram Ji’s passing on October 9, 2006, the Congress led Union Government failed to allocate suitable land in Delhi for a memorial despite widespread demands from the Bahujan Samaj Party and his followers.”

Concluding, he appealed to the House to support the resolution unanimously and said, “This House should pass this resolution with complete unity and send a strong recommendation to the Central Government to confer Bharat Ratna upon Babu Kanshi Ram Ji.”
