Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan may soon share screen space with South cinema legend Rajinikanth in the upcoming Tamil action film Jailer 2. The sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer has already created massive excitement, and fresh reports about Shah Rukh’s cameo have added to the buzz.
The first Jailer film, released in 2023, was a huge box-office success. It became the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year and one of the biggest Indian films of 2023. Because of that success, expectations from the sequel are very high.
Jailer 2 will once again feature Rajinikanth in the lead role. The film also includes a strong supporting cast such as Mithun Chakraborty, SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna.
Although the makers have not officially confirmed Shah Rukh Khan’s role yet, the reports have already started strong conversations online.
Shah Rukh Khan Jailer 2 Cameo Rumours
According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan may soon begin shooting for his part in Jailer 2. His filming schedule is expected to last about seven to eight days. Sources suggest that Shah Rukh will appear in an extended cameo in the film. He is reportedly playing the role of a cop. His scenes are also said to be part of the final portion of the film. If these reports turn out to be true, Shah Rukh’s appearance could play an important role in the climax.
However, the makers have not yet officially confirmed the cameo. Still, the idea of Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth appearing together on screen has excited fans. Both stars are among the biggest names in Indian cinema. Even a short scene featuring them together could become a major moment for audiences in theatres.
Reddit Reacts To SRK’s Jailer 2 Cameo
While many fans are excited, the reports have also started debates on social media, especially on Reddit. Some users believe the cameo will be a major highlight of the film.

Meanwhile, production of Jailer 2 continues. Rajinikanth even celebrated his 75th birthday on December 12, 2025, on the sets of the film. The crew, including director Nelson Dilipkumar, surprised him with a cake. The actor later posed for photos with the team, including cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan.
Reports also suggest that Mirnaa, who plays Swetha Pandian in the film, will have an important role in the sequel. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi have also reportedly shot scenes for the film.
Jailer 2 is produced by Sun Pictures and will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is also busy shooting his upcoming film King. The much-awaited movie is scheduled to release in theatres on December 24, 2026.
