Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Qadian and announced a series of development initiatives aimed at accelerating growth in the Majha region of Punjab.
According to the update shared by Aam Aadmi Party Punjab, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 237 link road projects worth around ₹168.44 crore, which are expected to significantly improve connectivity across rural and urban areas of the region.
During the visit, Mann also announced the establishment of a modern sub-division in Kahnuwan, aimed at strengthening administrative services and improving access to government facilities for local residents.
The state government also plans to develop a national-level sports stadium in the region, which is expected to provide better sports infrastructure and encourage young athletes to pursue professional training.

In addition, the Chief Minister announced the revival of an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) to promote skill development and provide vocational training opportunities for youth in the area.
Officials said that a 500-seat international-standard auditorium will also be constructed to host cultural, educational and public events, further enhancing local infrastructure.
The government has also proposed establishing a training institute for youth aspiring to join the armed forces as officers, which will help prepare candidates through specialised coaching and guidance.
Apart from these initiatives, Mann said that sewerage projects in Dhariwal and Qadian will be completed soon, improving sanitation and urban infrastructure in the towns.
The Chief Minister also announced plans for the renovation of village ponds and the installation of treatment plants, which are expected to contribute to better water management and environmental sustainability in rural areas.

LPG Shortage Addressed
In a post on X, Puri remarked that the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has issued urgent orders to oil refiners so they could increase the production of LPG and use such extra produce for domestic LPG use. It was further commented that a 25-day inter-booking period has been introduced to avoid black marketing and hoarding.

The Union Government has announced that there is no shortage of LPG in India. It added that supplies of LPG cylinders have stabilized after several concerns were raised about a likely shortage. The Union Government also stated that oil refineries have now increased the production of LPG by approximately 10 percent after directions. The government also suggested that a series of administrative measures have been put in place for preventing malpractices and hoarding.
It was also announced that the Union Government has invoked the provisions under the Indian Essential Commodities Act to ensure smooth distribution. However, it was highlighted that the Essential Services Maintenance Act was not been invoked.
Officials added that India is better positioned than most countries when it comes to the management of energy supplies. This is despite a series of challenges and global disruptions that have been triggered by supply chain pressures and geopolitical tensions.
The Union Government also urged Indian residents and citizens not to pay heed to unverified information that may be circulating on social media platforms, saying such unverified claims may create unnecessary panic.

In a social media post, Dhanda claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had weakened India’s relations with crude oil supplying countries and accused the government of compromising national interests. Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal also raised concerns over the LPG supply situation, stating that gas supply to most commercial establishments has been halted across the country, with the exception of educational institutions and hospitals.

The ministry also indicated that the decision has been taken in view of global geopolitical disruptions affecting fuel supply chains, and that efforts are being made to ensure adequate availability of LPG for households across the country.

According to him, the proposed 74.3 km long six-lane Ganga–Yamuna Link Expressway will connect the Yamuna Expressway with the Ganga Expressway, creating an important corridor for faster travel and regional connectivity.

The action was carried out on Day 373 of the ongoing anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, which aims to curb drug trafficking and dismantle illegal narcotics networks in Punjab.
During the operations, police teams recovered 9.1 kilograms of heroin, 627 grams of opium, 545 kilograms of poppy husk, and 320 intoxicant tablets or capsules. Authorities also seized ₹4,280 believed to be drug money from the accused involved in the illegal trade.
Officials said multiple raids were conducted at several locations across the state as part of the sustained crackdown. The campaign focuses on both enforcement and preventive measures to reduce the supply and distribution of narcotics.
Apart from arrests and seizures, the initiative also emphasises rehabilitation. Police officials said 27 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, helping them move toward recovery and reintegration into society.
According to official figures, a total of 52,786 drug smugglers have been arrested over the past 373 days under the campaign against drugs in Punjab.
Police authorities said the campaign is being carried out in coordination with specialised units such as the Anti-Narcotics Task Force Punjab, which focuses on identifying major supply chains and networks involved in the illegal drug trade.
Officials also stated that awareness campaigns are being conducted in communities to educate people, particularly the youth, about the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of rehabilitation for those affected by substance abuse.
The state government has reiterated that the fight against drugs will continue through strict enforcement, community participation and rehabilitation initiatives, aiming to make Punjab safer and healthier for its citizens.
UP Politics: From the Mandir versus Mandal politics of the early 1990s to the era of social engineering, every political party in the state of Uttar Pradesh has tried all the tricks in its bag to craft a winning caste coalition. As the state moves toward the Assembly Elections in 2027, one community has returned again to the centre of political calculations – the Brahmins.
Brahmins enjoy an estimated 10-12 percent share of the electorate in Uttar Pradesh along with influence across a series of key constituencies. This is one of the biggest reasons why political parties such as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are trying to woo the Brahmin community.
Why Brahmins Matter In UP Politics?
At the first glance, it may appear surprising as to why all political parties are vying to win Brahmins despite them just a tenth of Uttar Pradesh’s population. The reason is simple – the social, economic and political influence of Brahmins in Uttar Pradesh is disproportionately large.
Several political analysts believe that Brahmins are “force multipliers” due to their complex role in shaping public opinion at the local level. It has been often seen that a political stand by influential Brahmin leaders often resonates across other communities in villages and cities.
Indian National Congress
Historically, Brahmins were part of the Congress’s traditional “Brahmin-Dalit-Muslim” coalition that dominated Indian politics in the decades after independence. However, the implementation of the Mandal Commission recommendations in the early 1990s reshaped caste politics across North India. Many Brahmins gradually shifted their political allegiance toward the BJP, which emphasised Hindutva and upper-caste representation. Since then, the BJP has largely remained the preferred political home for the community.
Bharatiya Janata Party
For the BJP, Brahmins remain a crucial pillar of its electoral coalition. While the party has expanded its support among non-Yadav OBCs and non-Jatav Dalits in recent years, upper castes including Brahmins, Thakurs, Banias and Kayasthas continue to form its ideological and organizational backbone. The appointment of prominent Brahmin leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, has been widely interpreted as a signal that the party intends to retain its upper-caste base.
Samajwadi Party
For the Samajwadi Party, attracting Brahmin voters is both a strategic necessity and a political opportunity. Traditionally, the SP’s core support base has consisted of Yadavs and Muslims. While this combination is electorally significant, it is often insufficient to secure a decisive majority in Uttar Pradesh’s highly competitive elections.
Recognizing this limitation, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav has attempted to broaden the party’s social coalition. The party has increased outreach toward Brahmins through symbolic gestures, community events and the promotion of Brahmin leaders within the party structure.
Bahujan Samaj Party
The Bahujan Samaj Party has historically been associated with Dalit empowerment, but it has also experimented with cross-caste alliances. The most notable example was the 2007 election, when BSP leader Mayawati successfully implemented a “social engineering” strategy that brought Brahmins and Dalits together under the party’s banner.
This formula helped the BSP secure a full majority in the state assembly, demonstrating the electoral potential of a Dalit-Brahmin alliance. Political experts still view that experiment as one of the most successful examples of caste coalition politics in India.

Kalam further alleged that the truth has been hidden from the public by making people emotional. He said serious allegations were made against him, his fiancée and his parents, but no proof has been shared so far.
According to him, he has already posted evidence related to the matter on his broadcast channel and now plans to take the issue through legal channels.
In his note, he continued, “Baat yaha sach ki hai. Or sach ke liye agar mujhe kisi bhi hadh tak jana pade me jaunga. Abhi tak aap logo ko bas emotional karke sach se door rakha gaya. The controversy began after Anurag Dobhal shared a 2-hour-long vlog and made accusations against his family.. After being exposed by his brother, he attempted suicide during a livestream on March 7. During the broadcast, he reportedly drove his Toyota Fortuner at high speed on the Delhi–Meerut Expressway while more than 80,000 viewers watched online.
During the livestream, he called it his “final drive” and spoke emotionally about wanting his mother’s love in his next birth. The video ended when his car crashed into a highway divider.
Before the accident, Anurag Dobhal had shared a nearly two-hour vlog where he accused his parents and brother of mental harassment, financial exploitation and isolating him socially. The conflict reportedly started after his family opposed his inter-caste marriage with his wife, Ritika Chauhan.
After the incident, several emotional moments involving the family surfaced online. One viral video showed Ritika, who is reportedly pregnant, breaking down in tears while visiting him in hospital.
The situation became more serious after reports claimed that Dobhal’s father had publicly disowned him and Ritika through a newspaper notice, saying they would not receive any family property.
Meanwhile, Dobhal’s manager, Rohit Panday, urged fans not to believe rumours and confirmed that the YouTuber underwent surgery after the crash.
At the same time, Kalam has made counter-allegations, claiming that Dobhal had physically assaulted Ritika in the past. For now, Anurag Dobhal is said to be in stable condition but remains under close medical observation in the hospital.
Patna News: Work has initiated on the proposed water metro system of Patna with the first charging facility now being under the development stages at the Gandhi Ghat.
The charging infrastructure would be used for supporting vessels that are expected to operate on the initial 10.5-kilometer corridor between Kangan Ghat and Digha Ghat. The state government is planning similar facilities at Digha Ghat and Kangan Ghat in the upcoming phases.
Patna News-The First Stage Of Water Metro
The first stage would involve the connection of a series of vital riverfront location, with Gayghat and Gandhi Ghat as the primary stops. The Bihar Government is planning to commence the Patna Water Metro service starting from Kangan Ghat and passing via Gayghat, Gandhi Ghat, Digha Ghat, Nariyal Ghat, Paanapur, Konhra Ghat, Farakka Mahto Ghat, Kali Ghat in Sonpur and Chechhar Ghat.
The government authorities are planning for the development of around 10 terminals and 4 routes over time. This would help connect districts like Saran and Vaishali with Patna via river transport. It is expected that the Patna Water Metro system would help in strengthening the National Waterway 1 along the sacred River Ganga. Furthermore, it would help in offering an eco-friendly, affordable option of transportation for tourists as well as daily commuters visiting the riverfront.
MV-Gomdhar Kunwar, the primary boat that is planned for the water metro system in Patna, is likely to cost more than Rs. 12 crore while the entire project is likely to cost approximately Rs. 908 crore.
Developed jointly by the Bihar government and the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), the water metro system in Bihar’s Capital would receive technical support from engineers at Cochin Shipyard Limited.

Shared by an Instagram user Ravi Raj Rajpurohit, the now viral video documents the special and pure bond between a grandparent and the grandchild. In the video, an elderly village woman could be seen walking through an airport in India to board an aircraft. The viral video even includes several glimpses of the woman sitting inside the airplane and relishing the new experience.
The video text said the elderly woman saw the airplane from the window in the morning and was curious how it flies and she was on her first ever flight a few hours later.
