Russian Oil Waiver: In a post on X, United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent remarked that President Donald Trump has given his consent to India for buying Russian crude oil for a period of 30 days to prevent any energy crisis.

Russian Oil Waiver-Comments By US Treasury Secretary

Scott Bessent said the United States appreciates India as a trading partner and the 30-day waiver would apply to the delivery or offloading of such crude oil or petroleum products occurs at a port in the Republic of India. It was also added that the purchaser of such crude oil or petroleum products should be an entity organized under the laws of the Republic of India.

It was stated that all transactions prohibited by the authorities that are ordinarily incident and necessary to the sale, delivery, or offloading of crude oil or petroleum products of Russian Federation origin loaded on any vessel, including vessels blocked under the above listed authorities, on or before 12:01 a.m. eastern standard time, March 5, 2026 are authorized through 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time, April 4, 2026, have been waived.

Indian Opposition Parties Blast NDA

In several posts on X and other social media platforms, India’s opposition parties blasted the arrogant giveaway of Donald Trump.

Leading social activist Prashant Bhushan commented on X that the Indian Prime Minister has turned India into a vassal State of the US.

Interestingly, India has never stopped purchasing crude oil from Russia. This was despite repeated warnings and requested by the United States to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India asking them to stop Russian oil purchases.

Social Media Reactions

Many social media users blasted the rhetoric of the Indian opposition parties. A user commented, “If USA is releasing statements it doesn’t mean every time we have to follow…. They have the power to release statements not to stop us buying Russia oil.”

Another user commented, “India was buying oil from Russia even in February and had never stopped purchasing Russian oil. So the statement from the US saying that India can buy Russian oil for 30 days is nothing but a narrative for their own audience. In reality, it looks like a childish attempt to create the impression that the US is allowing India while India has already been buying Russian oil despite pressure.”

Hrithik Roshan: ‘No Matter How Great…’ War 2 Actor Shares Powerful Parenting Lesson In Sweet Message For Sons Hrehaan And Hridhaan

Hrithik Roshan Pens Emotional note for sons

Hrithik Roshan recently shared a heartfelt throwback photo with his sons, Hridhaan and Hrehaan, on Instagram. Along with the photo, he posted what he called a “love rant.” In the message, Hrithik reflected on his pride in their achievements but pointed out that his love for them is unconditional.

Hrithik Roshan Said THIS To Sons Hrehaan And Hridhaan

He wrote, “Man, it’s so much fun to see your kids shine. I caught myself thinking how proud I am as a father. For the men they are growing into, their talents, accomplishments, their work ethic, humility and full-chested pride. Then it struck me, how pride always implies accomplishment. Starts that very vicious cycle of I am loved if I perform.”

The actor added, “And slowly pride that tricksy fellow starts masquerading as ‘Love’. And so by way of this rant, I’d like to clearly demonstrate (and hopefully inspire) that no matter how great my pride is, it cannot for a second compete with my love for you. For just the way you are. You are here, enough and wanted. You belong. That’s it.”

Hrithik urged his sons to live life to the fullest and not be afraid of failure. He wanted them to explore everything, define success on their own terms, and even try doing nothing at times. He encouraged them to experience all emotions—joy, pain, loss, connection, and loneliness—fully, and to appreciate the small moments of wonder that come from truly feeling life.

Hrithik ended by telling his sons to focus on living and experiencing life fully. Success or winning isn’t the goal – what matters is feeling everything, enjoying the journey, and learning from every moment. He told them to remind him that love comes first, and no matter what happens, they should never be measured by achievements alone.

Hrithik’s Relationship With His Sons

Hrithik shares a close bond with Hrehaan (20) and Hridhaan (18) whom he co-parents with his ex-wife, Sussanne Khan. Hrehaan studies music at Berklee College of Music, while Hridhaan recently finished his senior studies. Hrithik is often seen combining mentorship with fun, taking them on adventures like bungee jumping, swimming and wildlife trips in Africa.

Despite their 2014 divorce, Hrithik and Sussanne maintain a strong co-parenting relationship. They often attend family events together, including their partners, Saba Azad and Arslan Goni.

Hrithik Roshan: Work Front

On the professional front, Hrithik was last seen in YRF’s War 2 with Jr NTR and Kiara Advani. However, the film failed miserably at the box office. As of now, the actor has not announced his next film project.

Shoaib Akhtar: Former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar has remarked that the cricketing world should learn the art and science of the game from Team India.

Akhtar made these comments after India register a thriller 7-run win against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to book a spot in the final of the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup with New Zealand on March 8. The side of Suryakumar Yadav would now be up against New Zealand to seek a record 3rd T20 World Cup title.

Shoaib Akhtar: Team India Has Nurtured Players

Akhtar remarked that Team India follows a time-proven process of identifying, nurturing, selecting and trusting young talents who have time and again proven to be big match winners. The list includes Ishan Kishan, Tilak Verma, Shivam Dube, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson.

Comments By Rashid Latif And Ahmed Shehzad

In another development, Rashid Latif and Ahmed Shehzad spoke highly of Team India’s brilliance on and off the field. Latif said each member of the Indian team has contributed in one way or the other during all matches of the ongoing ICC T20 Cricket World Cup.

Both Rashid Latif and Ahmed Shehzad commented that the Indian Premier League has been of great help for all Indian players to handle big-match, crunch situations. During a televised show “Haarna Mana Hai” presented by comedian and host Tabish Hashmi, Rashid Latif and Ahmed Shehzad along with Mohammad Amir praised the Indian cricket setup where talent is appreciated big time unlike Pakistan where widespread corruption and favouritism dominate team selections.

Pakistani public appreciated the performance of Indian cricket team and many of them wished that their own team Pakistan could have played even 1 percent of Team India’s scintillating performance. Many appreciated the collective performances of Team India members every time the chips were down and something bigger, greater and better was expected of them.

Turning Point in Yesterday’s Match: Check How One Brilliant Over from Jasprit Bumrah Completely Changed the Momentum of the Game

jasprit-bumrah

The semifinal match between the India national cricket team and the England cricket team in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup witnessed a crucial turning point when Jasprit Bumrah bowled a brilliant over under pressure. His tight bowling and smart variations slowed England’s scoring and shifted the momentum back in India’s favor, making it a decisive moment in the match.

A High-Scoring Thriller Between India and England

The semifinal clash between the India national cricket team and the England cricket team at the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was an absolute thriller. Both teams played aggressive cricket, keeping fans on the edge of their seats throughout the match. India posted a massive total on the board thanks to a powerful batting performance, but England’s batters also fought hard during the chase. As the match progressed, it looked like England could pull off a historic chase because their batters were scoring quickly and maintaining a strong run rate.

The Over That Changed Everything

Just when the game seemed to be slipping away, Jasprit Bumrah stepped in and delivered one of the most crucial overs of the match. His over completely shifted the momentum back toward India. Bumrah used his experience, accuracy, and variations brilliantly. He bowled tight lines, mixed his pace smartly, and didn’t allow the England batters to play freely. The over not only reduced the flow of runs but also increased the pressure on the chasing side.

Pressure Builds on England

After Bumrah’s impactful over, England’s batters started taking more risks to keep up with the required run rate. This pressure led to mistakes and eventually crucial wickets for India. That single over changed the entire atmosphere of the match. What looked like a comfortable chase suddenly became extremely difficult for England

As long as AAP Govt is in Punjab, free electricity will continue: CM Bhagwant Singh Mann

CM Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday said the upcoming Budget of the Punjab Government will introduce several new pro-people initiatives aimed at accelerating economic growth while strengthening welfare measures for the people. Addressing a gathering during a Lok Milni in District Sangrur and later speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said the Punjab Government has utilised public money responsibly over the past four years, delivering free power to more than 90% households, establishing 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics, and providing over 63,000 government jobs without bribe or recommendation.

Taking a swipe at Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sukhbir Singh Badal, the Chief Minister said the Akali leadership has lost touch with the realities of Punjab and should stop daydreaming about returning to power. He remarked that while Punjab’s youth need employment opportunities, Sukhbir Singh Badal is busy talking about organising card tournaments in villages.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said traditional political parties burdened Punjab with debt and worked for their own interests, whereas the Punjab Government is using every rupee from the state exchequer for the welfare of the people. He also criticised the Union Government for withholding Punjab’s rightful funds while simultaneously attempting to divide people through politics of polarisation.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a Lok Milni programme, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated. “The ensuing budget of the Punjab Government will introduce several pro-people initiatives besides propelling economic growth of Punjab. The Punjab Government has judiciously spent the taxpayers’ money in the last four years with a focus on the holistic growth of Punjab. The upcoming budget will also focus on citizen-centric initiatives so that the people can get major relief. For the first time in the history of Punjab, the budget will be presented on Sunday and it will further accelerate the economic development of Punjab.”

The Chief Minister emphasised that the Punjab Government is carefully utilising public funds for the welfare of the people. He highlighted that major initiatives such as free power and daytime electricity supply for farmers have brought significant relief to households and the farming community. “The Punjab Government is judiciously utilising every single penny of the state exchequer for the well-being of the people. Today more than 90% households in Punjab are getting free power and farmers are receiving power during daytime, which has been unprecedented. At a time when the assets of the country are being handed over by the Union Government to their blue-eyed friends at throwaway prices, the Punjab Government has created history by purchasing a private thermal plant,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Highlighting improvements in healthcare, the Chief Minister said that the Punjab Government has significantly strengthened public health infrastructure and expanded access to medical services. “As many as 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been opened in Punjab to provide free healthcare to people and quality healthcare services are being ensured in government hospitals.”

The Chief Minister noted, “To provide comprehensive healthcare, the Punjab Government has launched the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, a first-of-its-kind scheme in the country that provides cashless medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh for every resident family in Punjab. Punjab is the first Indian state to offer such comprehensive healthcare coverage, which has significantly reduced the financial burden on the public while ensuring quality health services.”

Speaking about the campaign against drugs, the Chief Minister said that the Punjab Government has launched an aggressive movement to eliminate the menace from Punjab. “The Punjab Government has launched the ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign under which the supply line of drugs has been snapped and drug smugglers involved in this heinous crime have been put behind bars. The menace of drugs is being wiped out at the micro level with the active support and cooperation of the people. This campaign has now become a mass movement with the help of the common masses,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Chief Minister said that the present financial situation of Punjab is the result of policies adopted by previous governments, which placed a heavy debt burden on the people. “The previous regimes mounted huge debt on Punjab as those leaders never worried about the common man. In the last four years, the Punjab Government has reduced more than 35% of the debt of Punjab. Every government takes loans but those loans must be for productive purposes. Every single penny from the state exchequer is being utilised for the welfare of the people and the progress of Punjab,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Criticising the BJP, the Chief Minister said that divisive politics is being used to polarise people instead of addressing genuine concerns. “The BJP has always tried to divide the country on the basis of religion to push its agenda of hatred. The statement made by the Union Home Minister regarding religious conversion in Punjab is aimed at polarising people, which is the strategy of the BJP. Instead of indulging in such dirty politics, the Union Government should be generous in allocating funds to Punjab instead of withholding the legitimate share of Punjab,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that despite Punjab’s immense contribution to the nation, the Union Government has stalled key funds meant for the development of Punjab. “Punjab has played a stellar role in the national freedom struggle, in making the country self-reliant in food production and in defending the borders of the nation. Despite this, the share of Punjab in RDF and other funds has been stalled by the Centre, which is hampering development. Rather than indulging in such cheap tactics, the Union Government should immediately release the funds so that the development of Punjab can be further accelerated,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Referring to Punjabis stranded in the Gulf region amid the ongoing war, the Chief Minister said that the Punjab Government is actively coordinating with the Union Government to ensure their safe return. “The Punjab Government has identified 370 Punjabis who are stranded in the Gulf region amidst the ongoing war. We have already taken up this issue with the Union Government and efforts are being made to bring them back. The Punjab Government is firmly committed to bringing back the Punjabis stuck in the Middle Eastern countries and no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause,” he said.

Earlier addressing the gathering during the Lok Milni programme, the Chief Minister said that such events are organised in village saths to ensure direct interaction with villagers and resolve issues at the grassroots level. “These programmes are organised in village saths to directly interact with people of the villages. Such places hold great importance in rural life as key decisions regarding development are taken here and disputes among villagers are resolved amicably,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Taking a dig at Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal, the Chief Minister criticised the suggestion of organising card tournaments in villages. “Sukhbir Singh Badal says that they will organise card tournaments and the winning village will get a ₹10 lakh grant. Instead of making such statements, he should explain why he cannot promise jobs for the youth who play these cards. The former Deputy Chief Minister is unaware of ground realities because he studied in convent schools in hill stations or abroad,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that the people of Punjab have rejected traditional political parties due to their anti-people policies. “Sukhbir Singh Badal should stop daydreaming because the people of Punjab will never vote them back to power. The Punjab Government will complete four years of service to the people on March 16 and during this period several pro-people initiatives have been taken. Today more than 90% households in Punjab are getting free power and farmers are receiving power during daytime, which is unprecedented,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Highlighting issues related to power generation and past decisions of previous governments, the Chief Minister said, “The supply of coal from the Pachwara coal mine in Jharkhand was stopped because Sukhbir Singh Badal wanted to benefit a firm close to him. The Akali leadership supplied solar power to Punjab at exorbitant prices by signing agreements with their own companies, which caused huge losses to the state exchequer. Earlier farmers had to spend nights in their fields waiting for electricity, but today they are receiving power during the daytime,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Chief Minister also spoke about improvements in irrigation and water management. “When the Punjab Government assumed office, only 21% of canal water was being used for irrigation. Today 68% canal water is being utilised for irrigation in Punjab. As many as 6,900 km of water channels and 18,349 water courses have been revived to ensure water reaches the tail ends, which has immensely benefited farmers,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Highlighting employment and education reforms, the Chief Minister noted, “More than 63,000 government jobs have been given to the youth without any bribe or recommendation, which has brought satisfaction across all sections of society. In the education sector, Schools of Eminence have been established across Punjab to provide quality education to students. These schools have smart classrooms, modern laboratories and playgrounds for scientific learning,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

He further said that teachers and principals are being sent abroad for training to improve teaching standards. “Special programmes have been launched under which teachers and principals are sent abroad for training so that they can adopt modern teaching practices and prepare students for global competition. Punjab has ranked first in the National Achievement Survey conducted by the Government of India, surpassing even Kerala. Students are also being given specialised coaching for competitive examinations such as Armed Forces preparation, NEET, JEE, CLAT and NIFT,” stated CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Chief Minister said that students from government schools have already begun achieving significant academic milestones. “Students from Schools of Eminence and other government schools have successfully qualified for JEE Mains, JEE Advanced and NEET examinations. The Akali leadership misused religion for political interests, which the people of Punjab will never forgive. Traditional political parties are unable to accept that the son of a common man is effectively governing Punjab,” said Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Chief Minister said that the people of Punjab have rejected traditional parties because they prioritised family interests over public welfare. “The people of Punjab have lost faith in traditional political parties because of their anti-people and anti-Punjab approach. Previous rulers were more concerned about their families rather than Punjab and Punjabis, which is why people removed them from power. After assuming office, the Punjab Government has focused on the progress and prosperity of Punjab and its people,” he said.

Criticising the Akali leadership further, the Chief Minister said, “Those leaders who cannot even find 11 members to form a committee in their own party are dreaming of winning all 117 seats in Punjab. These leaders patronised gangsters in Punjab and injected drugs into the veins of youth by protecting drug smugglers,” he asserted.

The Chief Minister added that the people of Punjab will continue to reject the Akali leadership for its past actions. “Akali Dal has become a party of political deadwoods rejected by the people again and again. They may try to misuse religion, but Punjabis will not be misled by it. The Akali leadership is building castles in the air to mislead people, but Punjabis will teach them a befitting lesson again,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Referring to past controversies, the Chief Minister said, “Sukhbir Singh Badal claims that all development in Punjab took place during their regime, but they turn a blind eye to sacrilege incidents such as Bargari and Behbal Kalan. By using religion for political interests, they have deeply hurt the sentiments of the people. The Akali leadership remains hand in glove with forces that are inimical to the Panth and Punjab,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Iran Warship: US Attack on Iranian Warship Sparks Political Debate in India

US-Israel- Iran- War

Iran Warship: A recent attack on an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean by the United States has triggered a political debate in India, with opposition parties questioning the response of the government led by Narendra Modi. The incident reportedly occurred on March 4, when a US submarine allegedly struck the Iranian naval vessel using a torpedo.

Warship: Iran Condemns the Attack

Iran strongly criticised the strike, calling it a violation of international norms. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi condemned the incident in a post on X, stating that the United States carried out an attack in international waters nearly 2,000 miles away from Iran’s coast.

According to Araghchi, the ship identified as Frigate Dena was carrying around 130 sailors and had been invited as a guest to an international naval event hosted by India. He accused the US of attacking the vessel without warning and warned that Washington would have to pay a heavy price for setting such a precedent.

Ship Had Participated in Naval Exercise

The Iranian warship had recently participated in the International Fleet Review-2026, a major multinational naval exercise hosted by India. The vessel had taken part in the event before beginning its return journey through the Indian Ocean when the alleged attack took place.

Earlier, Sri Lanka’s Navy reported that the vessel IRIS Dena sank in the Indian Ocean. Out of nearly 180 personnel on board, around 140 were reportedly missing after the incident.

Opposition Targets Modi Government

The issue has sparked strong reactions from several opposition leaders in India. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate criticised the government, saying the Iranian sailors had attended a programme in India as guests and were attacked while returning.

Similarly, Sanjay Singh accused the government of remaining silent despite the deaths of sailors who had participated in a military exercise hosted by India.

Priyanka Bharti also questioned why India had not issued a strong response, stating that the Iranian ship had attended the exercise at India’s invitation and was allegedly attacked by a heavily armed US submarine while returning.

Government Calls Some Claims Misleading

The Indian government, however, has dismissed certain reports related to the incident as misleading. The fact-check unit of the Press Information Bureau said that claims circulating in the media suggesting that the US used Indian naval bases to launch the attack were false.

The clarification came after comments from former US Army officer Douglas Macgregor were cited in some reports claiming that the US was using Indian naval facilities for operations against Iran.

Experts Raise Diplomatic Concerns

Despite the clarification, several strategic experts and former diplomats have raised concerns about India’s response. Former diplomat K C Singh said that silence should not be mistaken for diplomacy and argued that India risks being pushed into a difficult geopolitical position.

Former Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal also commented on the issue, stating that since India hosted the naval exercise and invited the Iranian vessel, it had a moral responsibility to acknowledge the incident.

He noted that under the exercise protocol, participating ships are not allowed to carry ammunition, suggesting that the Iranian vessel may have been unarmed during the alleged attack.

Officials said such interaction programmes are part of the state government’s effort to ensure transparency and direct communication with the public. During the event, the chief minister is expected to hear complaints related to civic amenities, welfare schemes, and local infrastructure.

Strengthening Government–Public Connect

The Punjab government has been organizing similar outreach initiatives across the state to strengthen engagement with citizens. Through these meetings, the administration aims to address issues on the ground and ensure that government schemes reach beneficiaries effectively.

Participation of Local Leaders

Local representatives and administrative officials are also expected to remain present during the programme. They will assist in recording complaints and ensuring that relevant departments take prompt action on issues raised by the public during the interaction.

The programme is also expected to serve as a key opportunity for residents to highlight issues related to agriculture, employment, education, and healthcare. Officials accompanying the chief minister may take immediate note of urgent matters and coordinate with departments for swift action.

Part of Government Outreach Initiatives

According to government sources, such public outreach events are being encouraged to reduce the gap between the administration and citizens. The state leadership believes that direct dialogue helps in better understanding ground realities and framing more effective policies for the people of Punjab.

Punjab Among Top Three States in Revenue Performance, Says Bhagwant Mann Government

The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has reported a significant improvement in the state’s revenue collection over the past four years. According to the government, Punjab has now been placed among the top three states in the country in terms of revenue performance, reflecting stronger financial management and improved tax collection systems.

Bhagwant Mann: Steady Growth in Tax Revenue

As per official figures, Punjab recorded tax revenue of ₹57,919 crore in the financial year 2024–25. The state government says this marks a notable increase compared to previous years. Officials attribute the growth to administrative reforms, improved compliance, and the expansion of digital tax monitoring systems.

Major Rise in GST Collection

Over the past 46 months, Punjab has also witnessed a substantial increase in Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection. During this period, the state recorded total GST receipts of around ₹83,739 crore. Authorities say strict monitoring and action against fake billing and tax evasion have contributed to the rise in GST revenue.

Crackdown on Tax Evasion

The government has launched several drives to curb tax evasion and strengthen revenue enforcement. Digital tracking mechanisms and improved data analysis have helped officials identify irregularities in commercial transactions. These measures, according to the government, have helped plug revenue leakages and boost collections.

Higher Revenue Supporting Development

The increase in revenue is expected to support the state’s spending on key sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Officials say that the improved financial position allows the government to allocate more funds for welfare schemes and development projects across Punjab.

Government Credits Administrative Reforms

Leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party say the improved revenue performance is the result of financial reforms and transparent governance introduced during the past four years. The government maintains that continued monitoring and policy measures will help sustain revenue growth in the coming years.

Diabetes: In India, more than 100 million people suffer from diabetes. This makes the concept of blood sugar management a daily challenge for millions. Thankfully, you could bust common myths associated with blood sugar with science-backed fats to take complete control of your life.

In a video shared on Instagram, gut health expert shares his expert opinion on the common myths associated with diabetes and high blood sugar.

Diabetes: Myth 1: Genetics Are to be Blamed-There’s Nothing I Can Do

Many of us believe that genetics are like a family curse when it comes to diabetes and high blood sugar. Interestingly, it’s the lifestyle that pulls the trigger even though the genes do load the gun. According to research, even with shared DNA, one twin can develop diabetes while the other doesn’t, purely due to habits.

Myth 2: Once You Start Blood Sugar Medicines, There’s No End

Ever heard the line, “”beta lifelong dawai khani padegi”? The truth is that medication is not a life sentence but a tool to reduce or reverse dependency. Lifestyle tweaks could help you improve type 2 diabetes that is a result of insulin resistance.

Myth 3: Fasting Sugar Normal, Everything Is Normal

A normal fasting blood sugar reading (under 100 mg/dL) feels like a green light. Many believed that they don’t need to follow any lifestyle tweaks or medications if their normal fasting blood sugar reading is normal. But, this is far from the truth.

Track your levels, tweak habits and consult endocrinologists, diabetes reversal is real.
